Cicadas with Orange eyed orange tipped wings with a black body in the Ozarks last weekend. There were so many cicadas on the water and I saw a number of trout come up and smash them but I hadn’t tied up any so I was out of luck. The noise that they made in the trees was deafening I’ve never heard it so loud.

Great fly! I have one question the materials list calls for 3mm black high float foam, but you never mention it in the video. Where is it used?

Trout are jerks. I was fishing with a couple of friends who bought or tied really good cicada imitations. I missed the memo and fished an orange stimulator fly, which was the ticket, outfishing the much better flies.
