Fantastic demonstration on technics for wool use on Fly Tying. I've never even considered it in my tying, but I am sold on trying it and purchased all the tools and wool for my next ties.

For some unknown reason, the video started at about 3 1/2 minutes, & I wondered if Brigham had finally convinced Cheech into prepping his own yarn & learning to knit. :-0 Actually I wondered if the mottled effect before the finally blended might be even cooler for the fly. Compliments to you both.

This is a good one, Cheech. It's just like you did in NJ last month but with more detail. What got me was that from start to finish, the fly was done in about 15 minutes. I like how the eyes are done, I do think that the same method would work on mouse patterns and even salt water. I

You could do those eyes for deer hair mice, and I wish I knew about that GSP trick with the wool years ago lol.

Not intended as criticism - these Skill Builder videos are really excellent - but you can blend the wool even faster by changing the direction that you spread it vs lift it off the carding cloth - in other words, brush and lift it east-west, then lay it down north-south and repeat.

@@williamparadis3058 if it were only that simple. It technically seems like it would work. You have to lift it off a bunch to get the big globs of color to blend. Pain in the arse.
