As others have stated this series is awesome! Maybe with some of that santa money I will be ordering that Smhaen dubbing twister and clip tool after the holidays. I have been making crayfish bodies with dubbing loop zonker for the smaller flies.

Great tips! I have found that counter-wrapping the lead on the bare hook, helps to keep it from spreading when you over-wrap it with thread. Thanks for these tips.

Great Hacks and Tips. Love them. Do you have a hack or tip to use larger hackle on smaller flies like softhackles when you run out of the small feathers. Using larger feathers to keep the proportions right. thanks Cheech. When are you getting the Swiss Multiclamp tool back in stock. Thanks

Any worry about lead poisoning when using the lead wire? New to tying, just curious how you get around that.
@FlyFishFood9 ай бұрын
If you research lead poisoning you’ll see you’d have to eat a bunch of it before you had an issue. I’m not too worried.

As usual, great tips!! In order to avoid having left over short pieces of NONTOXIC wire to weight my flies, I usually wrap the end toward the tail of the fly rather than break it off. Wouldn't it be great if all fly tying videos encouraged the use of NONTOXIC wire to avoid using lead, which is a known environmental toxin responsible for polluting the waters and killing birds which dabble in the mud where the lost flies likely end up. Love that dubbing deer hair!
