Can I beat Pokémon Emerald with only Fighting Types using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules?
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Fighting Type Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause); This includes Pokémon that evolve INTO Fighting types, but does NOT include non-Fighting Pokémon that evolved from Fighting types!
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

Amazing run. Medicham used to be so good in gen 3, I remember loving the one I had in Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. Also, I have come up with a really cool idea for a hardcore nuzlocke you may enjoy that may be easiest in Soulsilver, but can be done in any game/generation: Single-stage pokemon only. In Soulsilver, you can get Dunsparce and Unown before gym one and get a total of 12 encounters! (From what I've seen of other gens you have to do at least one important battle before getting a single-stage pokemon, but by using universal pokemon randomizer you could swap starter for first encounter easily)

I like how the narrative of the nuzlocke weaved itself into a type of fight club narrative, most boticeably with Steven, but even with throwaway lines like "his name was Robert Paulson." That was cool! And I really liked the ending. I really disliked the Glacia music though. I'm probably in the minority, but it just didn't fit the moment for me. I like that you keep exploring what Nuzlockes are supposed to be, melding them with your pre-existing interest in film. RuPaul would be proud that you're using what you've got, and not letting your inner saboteur get the best of yourself. Then again, Ru doesn't watch Nuzlockes

You always sound so invested in your runs, even though it's your 100th time playing through the game. I appreciate your nicknaming themes, and the fact that you exclusively call the pokemon BY their nicknames in the video. It makes them feel unique and important! Another rule I thought of for these runs is the "competitive rule" where both teams in a major battle have to use the same number of Pokémon. Meaning you can only go into a battle with Brawley for example with 2 Pokémon, and you won't be able to use all 6 in a major battle until the Elite 4.

Such good narration and skillful in battle too, no wonder you're a favourite of so many people when it comes to nuzlocke challenges 😃

Flygon, this video is amazing! This has been one of your best works so far! How you integrate the Fight Club refs, how educational you are with the Peck x Double Kick analysis and Gen3 switch mechanics. This video has been high level content, entertainment and knowledge. Well done!

I missed the naming theme until the end of the run, when that monologue about the true themes of Fight Club made me literally cover my mouth in delighted shock (And THEN I remembered where the name Marla Singer was from; and now Angel Face, my god, was I paying any attention?!) Love your runs, this was as delightful as the rest ♡

Your videos, as well as other poketubers who do nuzlockes and single pokemon runs, have helped me learn so much more about battle strategy. I've played pokemon for years by just catching pokemon I like and teaching them all-out offensive moves. I've been playing through the games on my phone and trying to learn more about how to battle effectively, my goal is to successfully finish a nuzlocke one day ☺️☺️

First of all, nice rules. Second, OH MY GOD. That is, hands down, the BEST sponsor transition I have ever seen. The timing, the volume differences, the little "ohmygod." Freaking 14/10 dude, 4 Michelin stars, I legitimately wish there was an award you could give someone for a transition so stellar.

"no significant differences in team 3" Well, your torchic now has a jolly nature-probably the best it could have, and the harayama no longer has the timid nature the first one had so it no longer has an attack penalty. Kinda funny the machop still had a hasty/naive nature again, that same +Spd for - a defense stat. I think the combusken's jolly nature helped it outspeed Archie's golbat when combined with the speed EV training Attempt 5-wow, jolly guts Heracross? That's a heck of a lucky find. Congrats on finishing the run, it was entertaining
@RubyGayming
@RubyGayming 2 жыл бұрын
Jolly lowers special attack, and in this game all fire moves are special due to there being no physical/special split, so it’s not really the best seeing as fire type moves really help in this game.
@MarkofWisdom
@MarkofWisdom 2 жыл бұрын
@@RubyGayming *looks up blaziken's stats* Huh, it has a much higher Special Attack than I thought at 110, I was thinking it was closer to like 80 Sp. Atk. The -spd Atk part of jolly nature probably didn't help with the fire moves, but since I think he mainly used it for physical moves I think it still helped overall, especially the speed boost part. Though, since the run died anyways it ended up being a bit moot

This was a super fun video. Also I don't know how possible it would be, but a hardcore nuzlocke where you're only allowed to use the pokemons used by the grunts of whatever bad guy team could be fun!
