In the cave that you have to go through to get to the Plasma Frigate, you can get a wild tynamo there as a rare encounter, so you could have had a full team of 6 for the end.

It's always been something I wonder, bc the perma-death rule implies either everyone's pokemon perma-die and you just slaughter long-bonded teams of gym leaders, who act completely chill about it, or that your rival's pokemon specifically are immortal, bc you fight them repeatedly. Either that, or your rival pulls the 'panicky parent of a toddler whose goldfish just died' and replaces his team every time with identical pokemon, hoping you can't tell the difference

You should go for a fairy-type “mono” locke in a pre-gen-6 game, using only Pokémon that gain the fairy type in gen 6. I haven’t heard of someone doing something like that before, plus you get to use a bunch of less-often used Pokémon. Bonus points if you use audino and/or altaria, since they gain the type on mega-evolving. Edit: another fun one might be a fossil-locke in either BD/SP or SW/SH, though you might need to ask your uncle jimtendo for a starter for the early routes.

It’s a shame Franklin died so early, since Encore with a ground immunity and good speed is godly for a mono electric team, basically allowing you to spam Encore to keep opponents locked into a ground move while you chip away at it. It’s amazing you managed to finish the fun without a ground immunity, so great job!

*RUN SUGGESTION:* An extreme Nuzlocke where you can only use one Pokémon (whose final evo is) of any given type. So for example, if your starter is Fennekin and your first encounter on a route is Ralts, that encounter is lost, because Delphox already eats up the "Psychic type" slot on your team. This would continuously limit the Pokémon you can catch, but also determine them as you progress, meaning you wouldn't be able to plan your team ahead of time like you often can in most of your runs. Naturally, skipping an eligible encounter to save a type slot or two is a risk-reward strategy too. Which game? Any of them, but X&Y have possibly the most expansive dex and anything pre-Fairy means one less type to use.

can confirm that Magnezone is incredible, I used one on my Brilliant Diamond team and it really pulled it's weight. I actually beat Meylene's Lucario using Magnemite, because it gets both Thunder Wave AND Supersonic for that sweet sweet Parafusion combo.

@@BaconNuke my experience with mono steel bw2 is that your riolu doesn't get force palm til after the first gym, so you have to test the rng with strategic bides; then your next encounter magnemite is a must have later so messing up there isn't great. I've gotten like 21 attempts in most times not making it past the first gym, but it's doable if you just run around a bunch and evolve the riolu into a lucario b4 gym 1

Very excited to see you complete the type monolockes. That said I'm always a bigger fan of your gimmick ones, getting to see a bigger variety of pokemon (or like the smeargle run, something weird like that) is really fun. Perhaps an idea for another gimmick run is you dont have any normal pokemon restrictions, but instead you add additional rules to the nuzlocke to make it harder (and maybe play an easier game like SWSH). I dont like the "no setup moves" ones, but perhaps rules like always editing the pokemon so it has the worst nature/ivs, or only letting a held item be used for a single battle before you need to discard it and find another item/get a second copy of that item.
