It was really nice to use the airplane for something bigger than me and the plane. Use the bush plane as a tool for conservation. We were tasked by the Owl Rescue Centre in Johannesburg to pick up 3 Aardwolf pups and Barn Owl that needed immediate attention to it's broken wing after being hit by a car.
The plan was to fly to Colesberg, a 7 hour flight there and back of which the same journey in a car would have taken twice as long. The animals all survived the journey and are being rehabilitated to be released back into the wild.
I am so thankful for all the work that the Owl Rescue Centre is doing to protect the animals. Visit their Facebook page - Owl Rescue Centre for more info.

Good job Thomas. Reminds me of when we flew to Kimberly to rescue Flamingo chicks. Brought back 75 that day that were care for before being returned to the wild. Hats off to you!
