Hi...create an Empty and parent the armature of the character to that Empty...now position key frame the empty to move the character...

how to make the cloths stick to a surface, like a small area like glue, rather than pinning them with vertexes

you can parent the cloth to the main body rig with empty weights, then add weight of 1 to the pinned vertices to the bones you want it to stick to. might be a little late
