Great video... I'll revisit this tomorrow as I'm trying to make a label appear on screen and fly to a cylinder and wrap itself onto it... Not sure if i can do just with this but this ought to help

Thanks for the tutorial. When I try to do this, it doesn't work though. When I move my flag to the right, it goes up. When I move it up, it goes right. The flag and the curve are both oriented the same way, so I can't figure out why this is happening. Also, my flag isn't staying the same length, and when I try to stretch it out, the curve stretches with it.

I guess if you hook it up to an empty, you can play with the distance and sort of add second animation method.

empty or a bone... bone gives you a little more to play, tbh there's a few different ways to achieve this effect

@@StevenScott_studio53 Yeah but im not sure you can let a bone follow the path. When you hook an empty, you can alter the strength to that hook

why would you call this "cloth along a curve" when it's simply an object along a curve. if you actually want your cloth to behave more like a cloth, why not use modifiers and never apply them. Add plane, subdivide it, add a displace modifier with a cloud texture, increase cloud textures size and adjust modifier strength until it looks as clothy as yours or even better. Set modifier coordinates to "global" and then animate it along the curve. That's the way to animate CLOTH along a curve ;)
