Flying Alaska's B737-900ER from San Diego to Seattle

Day 2 of thejazzguy's Week of Chaos starts with a flight up the entire west coast of the United States aboard Alaska Airlines' B737-900ER in Economy Class. By now, I've flown pretty much everything in the US multiple times and when it comes down to it, I honestly believe Alaska's Economy Class is the best. Are there better features on other airlines? Certainly. But as for overall experience sitting in a particular seat on a particular airline, Alaska in my book takes the cookie without question. They arguably may even be the best US airline, but that's definitely debatable between Delta, JetBlue, and even Southwest. I highly enjoy flying Alaska's B737-900ER whenever I get the chance to do so and would absolutely recommend them when choosing who to fly with. Great airline. Hope you guys enjoy!

I ❤️ love ❤️ Alaska Airlines and fly them as many times as I can. I have a flight from SEA to GEG ( Spokane ) next month. Then in September I have a Multi-City flight. I think two are on the Max 900. I fly from Seattle to Juneau from Juneau to Anchorage and then from Anchorage to Denver. I am very excited to do this. I have upgraded a couple of flights to see what shakes out. ❤️ Love ❤️ your vids. They get better and better. Keep up the good work.😊

Given that the PNW is our home and we always fly out of Seattle, there is no other airline for us. We've even been known to put more miles on a rental car just so we can use a destination airport where Alaska flies. You mentioned a nighttime Alaska flight coming up. I flew a redeye from Seattle to Orlando a few years ago. It was a great experience.

We're doing that red-eye in a couple weeks. I always do it to save the money on a hotel stay due to a late arrival. I also always regret it (I can't sleep on planes). ;) Alaska is the only airline out of SEA with a direct flight to MCO, so we always take it. They've got us on one of the Virgin Airlines Airbus A321s, which are always an interesting experience.

I just got done with a trip were I took 6 flights, 5 with alaskan and 4 redeyes. I have nothing but positive things to say about alaskan, their pilots, their staff and service. It was a pleasure.

I 💙💚 Alaska Airlines, too, and fly out and in of Sea-Tac International Airport, their home base. I did a round trip between Sea-Tac and San Diego a few months ago, and the scenery was awesome! I'm working on more and more of my own videos of flying Alaska (well, with a "dash" of Delta, too, as Seattle is a big hub for them). 🙂

Having flown out of SAN's current Terminal 1 several times, I can say that it's an experience you can afford to miss. The congestion is those old rotunda concourses is borderline panic-inducing. The good news is that they are building a new Terminal 1 and should have a world-class airport once it's finished.

Alaska's economy class on the 737 is a decent product. But the 2x2 layout (1x2 in First) and great legroom on the Embraer ERJ175's win out for me. You can fly those on the route's serviced by Horizon (an Alaska subsidiary).

I was supposed to be on a Southwest 737 MAX 8 from Omaha to Atlanta and the day before it got swapped to an 800. Still good legroom with the evolve interior plus got unlimited legroom choosing to sit in 16A. Lots of spring breakers flying to Florida especially my connecting flight to Orlando.

Man the 737-800 are showing their age up here in Anchorage Alaska all my flights have been on the 737-800 the seats look well worn and beat up. The Horizon E175 are a good upgrade wish they had power porta

Hey Jazz: when you say you have enough leg room for being 6' the question is how long are your legs? Seeing you full size you look to be about a 34" leg length. I'm 33" and find most economy seats on short haul aircraft a bit cramped.

Alaska economy isnt on Deltas level. Seats are just as comfy and Delta has IFE Screens on almost all of their domestic fleet as well as free WiFi.

I don't recommend those USB chargers in the plane , I just came back from a trip to south Carolina on Alaska airlines.. they told me they work while in the air , I tried them ... Half of them didn't even work... Overall my flight back home to Seattle was good... ✈️😏💯👍

Snack Service? That’s garbage. Cheap and Poor quality. It should be a meal service. Period. It would be interesting if there is a food strike among passengers on airlines that try to say that’s their meal service. Push back the tray and tell the FA, “You know something this is an insult! Start feeding us like we were guests”.Not The unwanted redheaded step child. (No disrespect to redheaded stepchildren.) Americans would be startled to find out what international airlines serve their passengers on flights of similar length. Even on flights as short as 45 minutes. And to think Alaska airlines was one of the last holdouts to stop serving gourmet style meals, not only in first class, but in coach too. Alaska passengers anticipated the quality of those meals. It’s just 7-Eleven or machine vending food now. It’s utter crap! That’s my two cents.
