Thank you for uploading this video of a perfect aerobatic display. I love biplane aerobatics, especially of the older designs. They are slower, their different parts stay next to another, do not that much space (faster) monowing aircraft need. 👍

Germany's version of the Stearman! Very sweet plane!

Not exactly. Though Luftwaffe had many different primary trainers (Bü 131, Bü 181, Fw 44 and (many) others (Kl 35), the one that would be most comparable to the Stearman might be the Fw 44 „Stieglitz“. Focke Wulf (Kurt Tank) designed the Fw 44 for primary training of Luftwaffe pilots. The Bü 131 (although used exactly for the same purpose) was designed as (civilian) aerobatic trainer.

@@darkredvan That isn't what pilots say who have flown them! They all say the same thing I said, however, thanks for your response!

@@Charles53412 It depends on in which regard you are comparing. I was only relating to their main role in the Luftwaffe. I could not compare their flying characteristics, as I have flown neither. My understanding was that Jungmanns were more used in aerobatic training, but of course I might be wrong there as well. No offense intended!

@@darkredvan The Stearman was also Aerobatic and was used for much of the same thing. They said if you could fly a Stearman there wasn't nothing you couldn't fly. Same with the Buker Jungman!

Hello, I have flown all 3 biplanes with the Quax Club, the Jungmann and Stieglitz are very light on the controls with the Jungmann the most nimble in the air with the smallest cockpit, the Stieglitz climbs better then the others and is the most comfortable / seating and less wind slipstream and has very effective ailerons. Stearman is much more heavy in feel has roomy cockpit and is less responsive at slow speeds but also a great trainer. Love them all, thanks for watching and have a Good day !

Is this a non-carbureted engine? With manual fuel throttling? Goodness gracious THAT is old indeed! I'd need to have a second man just for that! Haha
@planedisplay2 жыл бұрын
Hello, no it has a normal carburetor just when I push the throttle forward fuel is injected directly into it. Have a Good day !
