Their new business class suites are very good. I use Ethiopian airlines often to fly to the U. S. from Johannesburg SA. Interesting story, I was on the 737max that crashed, I missed it by 1 flight... Scary

Ah yes, the airline with a quirk in its 787 fleet. Their 1st batch of 787s have GENX engines but in 2015, ET switched to RR 787s for a reason I'll probably never know. Then, they switched back to GE in 2019, most likely because of RR engine issues. Does anyone know why they did the switch to RR in 2015?

I would think it probably has to do with their A350 purchase. ET's RR engined 787-8 are old orders that were never taken up by either ANA or LAN. 787-9 would probably have to do with the A350 purchase as they use RR engines also. ET would not be the only airline with mixed engine 787 fleet. ANA and Air New Zealand will follow suit when they receive their next batch of GE 787s. Coincidentally, both of these airlines are Star Alliance members, like ET.
