Not the first carrier with jet service Victoria-Vancouver. Air Canada, CP Air and Pacific Western all operated jets on that route at various times in the past. AC has used the DC-9, A320 and even a DC-8 for a year or so in the 1970s. The stretch DC=8-61 operated Toronto-Vancouver-Victoria, spent the night in Victoria, and returned via the same route the next morning. The aircraft was probably bigger than the Victoria terminal building then. CP Air and Pacific Western both used 737-200s.

Flew this route in 2019 with WestJet in a Dash-8 Q400. I timed it at 14 minutes take off to touch down. I'm guessing departing on 09 at YYJ saved us a few minutes. Stunning views of the Gulf Islands and Point Roberts. At YVR I transferred onto a BA A380 for a nine hour flight to LHR which was quite a contrast!

Nice video, as always. I've been to YYJ many times. Held short 27 at Sierra (3:44) many times too. Ample runway for light aircraft, less taxi time from the parking provided by the nice folks at the Flying Club.

Although not a scheduled flight that the public can travel on, Canadian North Airlines flies between Horizon and Albian airports in Northern Alberta with a B737. In visual weather conditions and depending on the wind conditions it can be as short as 7 mins in the air. The distance is 34nm from CYVR to CYYJ, whereas CYNR to CAL4 is 13nm.

I’m on that flight too. Our cruising altitude of 4000ft and of course there’s the need to announce the time at the receptive airport. We are also advised that there will be no inflight service due to the short flight time of 12 minutes LOL!

I'd assume it's something to do with it being a 2nd gen 737. 1st gen (Original) was the -100, -200, 2nd gen (Classic) was the -300, -400 & -500, then the NG that would be 3rd gen with the -600, -700, -800 & -900 & now currently it would be the Max that would be the 4th gen with the Max -7, -8, -9 & -10

Such a leisurely take off run. Perhaps close to maximum derate. Shortest ever flight I have carried out in my career flying B757's was a positioning flight from Manchester to Leeds taking 14 minutes. Shortest ever scheduled flights I have operated was probably from Turku in Finland to Talin in Estonia flying freight for DHL. That would take about 25 minutes.
