Thank you! Checking it out now. Love the album... Fun facts: I was at the very first Flying Colors concert! Mike said that it was not only the first concert for the album, but for the band which made it that much more special. Also, I find it hilarious that I've been hit on twice now by other guys while wearing my concert T-shirt in the Bay Area. They weren't my type (being guys) but they were nice about it. ;)

It's a good question. At the time, if you released a commercial CD, that's how it needed to sound. To put it a different way, if it wasn't loud, then when we released, people would have said, "Why is this album so quiet?"

Would have to do an A/B comparison, but I can't hear a massive difference on this, and I thought the original mix/mastering wasn't bad at all. What is standing out (first listen) is the drums sounds a bit more prominently compressed (even if there was no master bus compression), but the overall mix is a bit more dynamic (though not drastically). Regardless...great disk with some really great tunage whichever the version.

It's distorted and brick walled in places. Doesn't have dynamic range as much as would be ideal
