Thanks, I started about a year ago and haven’t really flown much, I’d say around the 3rd battery I gained the courage to use my goggles and took me 5 minutes and then I was doing ok after a few crashes. Ive gotten way better with my 2.5 in tooth pick drone that has served me for nearly a year. I’ve just gotten my first 5 inch quad and I’m waiting for the remote to arrive, I can’t wait to test it out!

really cool that has inspired me to do a similar progress video it took me 2 months to trust my goggels and over a year to go acro as always flying on my own then i met my fly buddys and they changed me forever, thanks for sharing

Yeah switching into goggles was a weird step, naturally I didn't have any before footage though. Thanks for watching 😊

This is making me want a fpv drone even more
@dingbatfpv4 жыл бұрын
It's really fun but not as easy as it looks in videos. Also there's tons of extra stuff you don't think of, you can end up buying a lot of tools 😅

I like how it shows the horizontal leveling of the drone in the goggles. First time I've seen this. But I'm new to fpv drones. I flew 3d helis
@dingbatfpv Жыл бұрын
That's an option in the betaflight on screen display (OSD) It's called artificial horizon. I ignore it 90% of the time but when you want to fly slow with high cam tilt it's super useful.
@unstoppable6047 Жыл бұрын
@Dingbat FPV awesome. Thx bro. I'm going to go set that up now. I'm still trying to get used to seeing through the goggles. And I think I'm level, but then I'm either traveling a little backward or forward. So that should help a lot.

Good work, keep it up. I have a memory card going back to my first flight, this makes me want to go back and see how sketchy i was lol.

And also the tall grass in those fields really scared the s*** out of me. One weird crash and you'll never find it
@dingbatfpv4 жыл бұрын
I tend to try to fly right by the tractor lines, so it's easy to walk through, set up the beeper on a switch and you can usually find it. Also you can buy finders which I have since installed. They beep for a few hours when the drone loses battery. You can see two different ones in my newest vid 🙃

Awesome video! Unfortunately I deleted my embarrassingly bad first clips.

So currently are you still on beta flight 4.2 or did you end up going back to 3.5?
@dingbatfpv3 жыл бұрын
3.5 on my 3" I find it way better and it's tuned nice so I won't touch it lol. I recently "invested" in a 5" and that's on emuflight but not flown yet 😬
@guidobel48603 жыл бұрын
nice video, did you start in air mode or in stability mode indoor?
@dingbatfpv3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I started with line of sight stabilised until I got used to the controls and then just went straight to acro after about a week. I figured I was gonna have to learn it so better sooner 😅

Try orqa fpv skydive. Free program and it has a building in it which is perfect for flying around objects. Really good physics in it too
@dingbatfpv3 жыл бұрын
I do like Orqa, the throttle just doesn't have a good feel to it and I can never get it right, I think it's the way expo is implemented on it.

@@dingbatfpv oh ok. yea it's the only sim I've used so maybe I should try others

tried velocidrone, found i couldnt get it, trying drl now before my batterys arrive but, thats what im basically trying to achieve at the moment just to be able to fly, the basics with a few tricks, thanks for that

You'll get there with practice 💪
@bentprops_5 ай бұрын
Nice. You should progress to racing
@Cbeuanr3 жыл бұрын
Where is that?
@dingbatfpv3 жыл бұрын
Where is what? Mostly it's fields around Derbyshire. The power plant is Willington and it's quite easy to get in to fly.
@MrSabram074 жыл бұрын
You got much better than me much faster. I've been flying for about 2 months and I'm not that good. And for whatever reason I can't get any of my controllers to work on a simulator. Laptops desktops I can't get them to work

Sorry to plug my stuff to you twice but one of my three videos is covering exactly that 😅
