What you see is pretty much what you get with these ones... We had like 5 batteries and no way of charging back then so didn't really film unless we were hooked up (no vlogging/story at all just random clips of fishing and a bit of travel).

Hey you guys have helped immensely on choosing rod, reel and lure setup for your type of fishing, any chance of input on the hit and misses you've experienced with lines and types?
@MorningTideFishing9 жыл бұрын
+Madbear We're gunna make a "what line" film in the next month or so but for now i'll give you a quick run down... Basicly we've tried 10000000 different braids over the years. Like most thing you do get what you pay for, high end braids are usually, smooth, round, thin (for lb rating), durable and cast well. Cheaper braids are more coarse feeling, thicker etc and also have irregular strength. BUT we have just recently been testing out this new braid called Tasline and so far its awesome! Has all the attributes of the top shelf braid but is also at a competitive price. You can find it here www.bustedfishing.com/

soon we are gonna have to wear life jackets of the rocks with these new laws coming in haha
@MorningTideFishing8 жыл бұрын
+ozbro Bro I think it's only NSW for the moment but it will most likely spread if people keep dying. Funny thing is it's actually possible that life jackets are more dangerous for a strong swimmer because it won't let them swim under waves (potentially getting smoked back into the rocks)... We're going to make a film soon to myth bust this theory because it's also possible life jackets aren't so buoyant that they prevent duck diving and they might actually be really good we just have no idea, so we're going to try and find out (look out for the film in the next month or so).
@5.56-e8r8 жыл бұрын
yeah kinda stupid. is the law in now for nsw?
@MorningTideFishing8 жыл бұрын
+ozbro Bro As far as i know it is only going to be NSW and only at locations where many people have died. Also there is 12 months before it comes into effect. There was a few deaths at one spot near sydney last month and the NSW government (who have already been talking about forced life jackets for years) saw this as the final straw. It prolly wont affect most people (because it's only in select 'high risk' locations) but the fact that they've put the law in place in this manner means it's open to other states/areas and even one day Aus wide. The thing that may happen is people stop fishing those spots in rebellion and just fish elsewhere. The government only looking at statistics might think 'manditory PFD law started for this ledge and since then no one else died in that spot so lets bring it in Aus wide and save everyone" even though there was simply no one fishing there. It's also possible people start to fish more dangerous ledges to avoid wearing a life jacket at the 'high risk' spots and there is an increase in deaths. Maybe they put a life jacket on and think they can fish any conditions and there is an increase in deaths this way as well. I don't think the Gov has really thought this through and it looks to me like a band-aid solution for something they don't really understand or even want to put the time and $ into. It would cost them shit loads finding/realising a truly helpful solution (like months of surf education and a truly challenging physical exam/test... Something like a bronze medallion but prolly even more intense). As it is, forced life jackets will actually make them coin in fines and also bring more $ to the economy in the form of life jacket sales. We'll see companies creating new life jackets specifically tailored to 'rock fishing' and selling them for a premium $$$ (wouldn't be surprised if some gov officials already have investments in who ever makes PFDs haha, there's a rock fishing conspiracy for you). But what ever happens we're still keen to get a life jacket and jump off a ledge in swell, it's possible they're not that bad but also possible they're real dangerous in swell and we want to find out the truth first hand (could be a pretty wild vid, actually kinda scared for who ever has to wear the PFD haha).

Hi boys, big fan here love your stuff. I am looking to buy a set up for kings which I am going to be using off wharfs in Sydney Harbour. Since I will manly be catching rats, what line class would you recommend for braid? 20 pound, 30 pound or heavier? Keep in mind I still wanna have a bit off fun when catching them. Cheers, John
@MorningTideFishing9 жыл бұрын
+John Milo Hey mate, It depends on a bunch of different things but in the end 100lb vs 10lb doesn't make a ton of difference if you have tension on your line and you hit a barnacle! haha I've been smoked by 60cm kings on 40lb and then landed a 28kg jew on 15lb... So it's almost like a personal preference. What lures you want to use, how light they are and how far you need to throw them plays a big role in the choice. Also think about the fact that most braids break at a different lb rating then they are labeled www.bustedfishing.com/#!/Tasline-Braid/c/14190036/offset=0&sort=normal This is what we're using at the moment and its actual breaking strain is well above what it's rated at. For pelagics i always go more line on the spool over higher lb line. But a close quarters kingy fight you could definitely go heavier with less line, lock up a bit and land more fish! So it's fully up to you! If you do go lighter (lets say 20lb) I would recommend getting a rod that's rated with 20lb as the bottom not the top. So if you first spool up with 20lb and are getting smoked every time you can bump it up to say 40lb next spool and lock up a lot more. Hope this helps mate, and stoked you're a fan of our work!

@MorningTideFishing6 жыл бұрын
Hi Mate, we fish up and down the East Coast of Australia from NSW right up to the top of QLD, the reason we never talk about location is local Aussie fishermen are extremely protective of their spots and we don't want to get into trouble with locals where ever we travel (to make sure we're welcome back next time we go).
@ItsHDFrostyv29 жыл бұрын
where is this island?
@MorningTideFishing9 жыл бұрын
+Frost Hi mate, sorry we can't talk about locations (Aussie land based fishermen are extremely secretive about their fishing spots and with this in mind we have to stay on good terms with the locals in each area that we fish). Here we talk a bit about locations kzbin.info/www/bejne/moicdoqloclsq5I . It really is true that we catch fish where ever we go, there is no 'special spot' but that said, people still feel their area is amazing and if we gave away their spot it would be pretty bad for them.
@ItsHDFrostyv29 жыл бұрын
Oh, I'm just wondering this must be in the south Pacific, looks awesome.

+Ravey Dave Hey bro have you watched our "what location" film... kzbin.info/www/bejne/moicdoqloclsq5I It's almost like just pick a spot and go spin all day long, I'm sure you'll get hook ups as long as you're out past the waves like we talk about in that vid ^ up there.
