I get Aviation news that Air Canada will be Replacing there Bombadier Dash-8 Q400's Turboprops and CRJ700's & CRJ900's later the upcoming years with New ES-30's Electric Propeller Planes which be there Replacement.

@@karlossargeant3872 This is far from being done. The ES-30 is a proposed design that isn't even flying yet. AC has invested $$ in the development, that's is. Expect to see the Q400 around for a few more years!

I have flown on this kind of plane many times. I enjoy the size of the plane. I found them to be just as comfortable as the 737s I have also flown on many times.

I see these planes taking-off and landing non-stop from the Toronto Island airport any given day. I think this type of plane, though old, is extremely safe and reliable.

Runway length in YTZ is actually 3988ft. Still VERY short for a Dash 8-400. Also, taxi for departure is always done on 2 engines. Taxi to the gate after landing is often done on one engine when conditions permit to save on fuel (Jazz procedures. Other airlines may do it differently).

What a stupid title! "are they still safe to fly" as someone who used to maintain Q400s I'd fly them any day of the week compared to ATR/737s/787s
