My comment exactly. "It has something to do with City government now". GEESH! It's always been City Hall and the most beautiful building in the city and the red beacon flashing atop for decades was originally where the old Lindbergh Beacon, (as in Charles Lindbergh) was located. The State also used marble from all California counties to build it and was the tallest building in Los Angeles from it's opening in 1928,(I believe) until the mid 1960's. That building WAS the Los Angles skyline and was completely retrofitted after substantial damage in the 1994 Northridge earthquake and the foundation was essentially put on coils like a mattress to withstand a significant earthquake which frankly the State, and entire city was built on fault lines like a broken piece of glass.

Adam Troup check out Lothian Helicopters. I done a flight with them a few years ago was under £100. We took in the Forth Bridges as well as Edinburgh, Arthur's seat etc. Great experience. Pity I wasn't into photography when I done it.

My son was born at Cedars also!!!! The cool thing with LAPD flying you Jason is they get to approach certain sites closer than regular helicopters would be. I recommend everyone who can, take a flight over LA in a helicopter, it is an interesting experience. One thing that always amazes me, after sitting in traffic for hours in LA, is that in a helicopter, you can get from Downtown to Santa Monica in like 5 minutes. If only our freeways had no traffic!!!!

Someone should challenge Jason to a shoot off. They would have a Nikon D50, kit lens, a Vivitar 285 flash, a 33" shoot thru umbrella, a bracket, the cheapest Neewer remote trigger, and one light stand. You may also use a large piece of white foam board from walmart. They can only use themselves as the models (Shoot each other) No assistants. Location is an abandoned something or other. I'd love to see Tony Northtrup, and that guy with the English accent, go against Jason in this challenge! Call it the AVERAGE JOE GEAR challenge!

Hey Brother, man this was an awesome video!!! I got totally homesick seeing places where I grew up. Loved the shot of City hall and Parker center, Hollywood, the LA river, even the traffic on the 110!!! Im so happy you got this opportunity and you chose to share it with us!!! When the bright light shone on the Hollywood sign, that reminded me of how that light would brighten up the house when lapd was looking for someone. LOL. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, we are truly blessed to have someone like you who is unselfish with his gifts.

Increase in shutter speed before narrowing aperture resulted in overexposure? I know nothing of video - can someone explain that one?

Yep, it's a bit confusing. In the beginning the props were "frozen" in time and Jason changed the shutters speed to a point where the props were "blurry" so each frame is exposed over a longer time. So to get the exposure right again he had to close down the aperture a bit. Calling it INCREASE is mathematical right e.g 1/10 is more than 1/100 however we say faster shutter speed when we go from e.g. 1/1000 to 1/4000 . Well noticed though. memo perez I don't think it would be a big difference unless you're talking about the ISO performance of the camera. If that's the case the 6300 is better then the 6000

A7RII is a way better camera. If you decide to stay Canon, at least get the 5DSR...it's very close to the price range of the 5DMIV. But way better also, seriously.

Anibal Lopes 5DMIV is still going to be good for stills. But it also depends on your budget and the type of shooter. I personally own the A7R2 and love it. If you're an enthusiast, and want canon only, take the 5D4. It's not gonna be as good as the other two (a7r2 5dsr), but it has better low light than the 5DSR, more Dynamic range and is a better Canon choice for overall photography. If you use it for video it'll be the end of you lol. The A7R2 however is less in price, beats it in video, sharper pictures, better low light shots, stabilization which allows me to shoot 1/20th of a second handheld....and kinda lighter. I say kinda because certain lenses make it heavy. Although the 5D4 isnt as good as it should of been, it's still a good FF camera. Try renting it out before you buy to see if your happy with it.

Anibal Lopes The metabones adapter works great on the A7r2. The adapter and the camera actually come out the same price as the 5DM4. But try the M4 first. Rent it off of Lumoid or buy it from BH/Best Buy and give it a shot. There isnt a laid out blueprint on how we should both shoot. I prefer the A7r2, but we also aren't the same person. Rent both and see who wins for you.
