Great video, glad no music. I once went snorkling in the inlet at slack tide. Then the tide started going out. My buddy saved me from going out into the atlantic. this inlet is the closest to the gulf stream in the world. Lots of Big sharks outside, Cleaner water than clearwater beach Florida.

Yes, this is probably the best snorkeling in Florida that you can do without a boat. Sometimes it looks like part of the Gulf Stream is diverting into it. There are many animals there that are normally out on the deeper reefs where you need scuba and a boat. If your buddy didn't save you, I would have treated it like a rip current. Snorkel parallel to the beach until you're out of the current, then head in. If you had full snorkel gear you would have hours of time to get back. With no fins, much less.

Great video. I am going fishing there tomorrow and wanted to see how deep certain areas were. Thanks

Great video, excellent picture quality. Thanks for sharing I think this inlet is also known as the Lake Worth Inlet. Another interesting thing about Peanut island is on the south end of the island is John F Kennedy’s Cold War bunker. There are a lot of sharks and large predator fish close in to shore and in the inlet. I would be careful if snorkeling in the inlet itself. We have been there many times when the large (or fast) vessels come through they can throw up a lot of wake. If you’re near the rocks it could get dangerous. And of course , you should never snorkel in the navigation channel.

It's beautiful snorkeling there in the inlet, but you need to be experienced. the channel is fairly far from the nice snorkeling areas. The ship wakes aren't too bad as long as you are not right over the rocks or trying to climb out. As far as predators, they are everywhere in the ocean. My run ins with 6 and 8 ft bull sharks and a 6 ft barracuda were all in shallow water just off the beach. I did cancel a dive there at the inlet once when a guy just getting out said he saw some bull sharks.

Now that is called REALLY STUPID. Two snorkelers swimming around the inlet without a dive flag between them! I don't really care if they are inside or outside the channel markers -- beside being illegal -- it's dangerous as hell. All boaters don't pay attention.
