That proper fowler flap system is impressive! I would love to study this induction ducting and the cooling plenums for a few hours. Impressive engineering all around ♠️

Joe and Dave are working on an improved custom intake manifold to replace the stock one. We'll do a special vid on that once it's all built.

@RV6EJGUY - Yet another excellent video. Did that bird ever compete against Russel Sherwood's Subaru-powered airplane? I'd love to see the comparison - performance and total cost-of-ownership (fuel, maintenance,.etc..).

Russell's plane is a Glasair and as far as I know they haven't gone head to head in a SARL race yet. Joe's plane is probably a good 30-40 mph faster without the nitrous but Russell has less than half the engine displacement. Both are very cool planes.
