Map caching is paramount for creating missions in the field. Maybe a link to someone's caching tut would be nice. Thanks for THIS excellent tut! By the way, I know what happens when attempting to create a wp that exceeds the altitude limit via Mission Hub. Does anyone have any experience doing that using the Litchi app (android or iOS) on a P3/P4/Mavic with a modified version of the firmware?

thank you! I wish I knew this last year, I wouldn't have hit a damn tree that was on a hill.

I have been using the RTG feature for a few weeks and it is very useful. Please realize that, if you say, set it to 30 M for all way points it will be 30 M RTG AT THOSE waypoints but not necessarily between the waypoints. If the ground elevations changes between the waypoints then that could be a problem. In addition, the drone will increase / decrease the elevation at a constant rate between waypoints. This might be obvious but if people are not aware of it they could get into trouble.

Thank you VintageSlots for your very important post. I ran into that problem. A Litchi Mission with a P3 Standard was a 4.7 mile 13 minute flight. A crash occurs in this shortened clip. The P3 is pitched upside down, made it's way out of the brush and miraculously returned home unmarked. As you can see in the video the Phantom was flying toward the next waypoint which was much lower than the previous. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3vLknSEZqqkjrc Yet another error on my part. My Phantom 4 on a 15 minute RTG Litchi Mission. It's amazing what a Phantom 4 does when running into obstacles (trees and cactus). kzbin.info/www/bejne/fanHd2CBrZhphpI

Hi VintageSlots....but isn't the whole point of RTG to keep the height equal throughout the path for that exact reason??? ...just in case there is a difference in terrain height??

Thanks for the clarification

That was so helpful thanks...I've always wondered how I keep my drone at the same height (relative to the ground immediately below it) over undulating areas and hills.....will try this out tomorrow - cheers

I‘ve using the RTG function, with my Mavic Pro, extensively since it became available. It was fantastic! But now, lately, it won’t work. The error message says “failed to compute altitudes relative to ground, reason: Unknown Error”. I’m quite desperate. Can anyone help?

Hi Laurence, I would like to ask something, we live in Malta and we have quite a famous church here, The Mosta Dome. I would like to fly a mission around the church using waypoints, instead of POI, during the mission I want my drone (Mavic Air) to fly above the church dome, with my camera pointing straight down on the center of the dome and spin around once or twice and the carry on with the mission, is this possible. I hope you understand what I mean, by the way I am a new pilot and very new to the Litchi app.

Cool! I found this by accident and panicked, then canceled it and had no idea what it was. Now I can find it again and actually use it! I love Lichti! Thank you Laurence!

Error. With my route showing i click the Spanner Icon. I selected all and Edit. I set relative to ground 2M. I want to fly down a river. I am taking off from dry land about 4 meters higher than the river. But when I try to Batch Edit or Edit one at a time Relative to Ground. I get ''Failed to compute altitudes relative to ground, Reason, Request Denied'.! Anyone have any ideas please?

David Anthony Batten, I get the same message on mine too. I was watching another video and the that person said to do the editing while you was connected to the Phantom was running. It might need the gps connection to set the altitude from quadcopter? I’m just guessing. I haven’t had a chance to try it.

Doesn't make sense for them not to make the mission hub as capable....

Yes its a question of priorities - they have a huge dev pipeline, I am sure they will get to it

Hello Laurence, I am a member of the Phantom Filmschool, and Part 107 Certified. I want to use Litchi waypoints in the following scenario, in an area where I have flown with DJI Go 4 several times. . The Muir Beach Lookout in California is 480 feet Above Ground Level. It is on a cliff directly overlooking a 480 foot drop into the ocean. I can envision setting Waypoint 1 at (lets say) 510 feet up, (30 feet over the top of the cliff) but then how does one deal with Waypoint 2, 3 and others as these will now be over the surface of the ocean 480 feet down - 480 feet lower than the original Home Point altitude. . If Waypoint 2 were to be 40 feet above the ocean surface how does one set this up? Would the Litchi AGL setting adjust the automatic pilot parameters accurately so that one could set WP1 Altitude to be 30 feet AGL at the Home Point , and WP 2 Altitude be 40 feet above the surface of the water (AGL) even though Ground level is now different by a factor of 480 feet? Up until now I have been working with negative altitude numbers and it seemed be quite risk for obvious reasons. And quite confusing when setting the Return to Home altitude - proceeding to a Ground Level that is 480 feet above another Ground Level. Thanks for your help.
