Today we take a look at the first part of a several part video involving waypoints in Litchi. This particular video discusses setting up a mission on your computer using MissionHub. As always hope you all enjoy. :)

I'm new to Litchi and have only flown one mission created in the Litchi hub. I was very impressed with it's capabilities. Your video taught me a lot about the interpolate setting, something I didn't understand completely. Thanks. I did find out (previous to your video) how to load a mission directly into an android phone. I created a mission, then saved it (logged into Litchi), then I went to load the mission in the hub and it gave me the option of downloading the mission to my computer. From there I simply copied it to the folder on my phone (Litchi\missions). Then when I want to run the mission on the drone I load it in the app.

This was an incredibly informative video. I'm a newbie and have just bought Litchi. I am using an iPhone 7 plus. So, I'm going to be spending some time trying to figure out how to get the waypoints on my phone. But I digress. Thank you so much for your time in publishing this excellent tutorial. Again, very informative. I have subscribed and have watched some of the other videos. Bravo. Chuck

Nice tut. Your tip on having the last waypoint be close to you take off point is a good idea. Just a note that on a smart device, you can set the mission "finish action" to be "back to 1" which, by the way, is also recommended to be close to your take off point. Not a big difference, but this saves one waypoint, and results in the same safety margin. But, an advantage of setting an ending waypoint is that you can then control the camera better on it's trip back to the take off point in case there is something else you want to record. Cheers, Dave.

I noticed this after further investigating Waypoints on the smart device. Seems a nifty safety feature to have and thanks for pointing it out. :)

Great video. I am trying to do a hole by hole golf course mission at a lower altitude. There are trees involved as well as altitude changes on several holes. I want to maintain a forty to 60ft altitude from the ground going up or down the terrain. How would this be programmed with waypoints? I am flying a phantom 4. Thank you for your help.

I create my waypoint missions on a PC while logged in to the Litchi Hub. Then I log my Ipad into the same Hub site and now I am able to see and retrieve all missions from the Hub, onto my Ipad where I can upload each mission and fly it. However, for some unknown reason to me, when I log off my Ipad, I lose all missions on the Ipad. I went out into the field and found this out, away from WIFI, much to my disgust. There were no missions on the Ipad. With the use of IExplorer, I found Missions under the Litchi app. There were no missions there. Then I dug into the subdirectories under Missions, and there were all of my missions in a weird subdirectory, but, not usable in that location. Using IExplorer, I moved the mission files back under App/Litchi/Missions and they could now all be loaded again. If I log back on the Litchi Hub with my Ipad and PC, I lose all missions again from my Ipad. The sync is not working correctly and I don't know why. I have been emailing back and forth to Litchi Tech and can't get a decent answer, but I'm still trying.

I wish I could be of some help in that but I have never experienced it. In any case thanks for taking the time to share and watch, and if you find any solutions please don't hesitate to leave it here.

I found a work around. While both my pc and Ipad are logged into the Hub, and then, log off my Ipad the missions disappear on my Ipad. However, I found them under apps/missions on the Ipad, using IExplorer, in a subdirectory under Missions. With IExplorer, I move them up, out of the subdirectory, to the Missions directory and all is well.

I'll see what I can do. I have kind of been out of it for a while but never a bad reason to get back into making videos again. As for the smart device I have just as much to learn as anyone else, since I normally pre-plan things on the computer if possible. Thanks for watching!
@MrPolleke19497 жыл бұрын
Hi Husky-Flies, Awesome tutorial here. thank you. I have a question though. On the phone app (Andriod) you can set a last "waypoint" being RTH or Land. I can't see this on my PC (Windows8.1) using MissionHub. Do you know how to end a missoin with a RTH at the end?
@Sanuske47 жыл бұрын
I think that's a setting that is specific to the drone's settings, and not the waypoint mission. I could be totally wrong, but I think if you set RTH as your action upon the mission ending - it will do this for EVERY mission until you change it. Thanks for taking the time to watch.

hi there great tutorial.... well done! is there any way to track a road automatically? ie: i would like to fly to the side of a bendy road looking at 90 degrees to it?? vbr david
@Sanuske47 жыл бұрын
The only way I would know of is to label the way points parallel to the road while tacking points of interest along the road. At least that's assuming we are thinking the same thing. Thanks for watching and hope it was helpful.

A WORD OF WARNING! Yesterday, I flew a Litchi mission out to a point of interest, circled, and started the return home. Suddenly, the drone stopped...I waited, then noticed it was climbing. Then got a message on the RC - Must Return Home. I tried punching the Ipad to start the return home. No response. I flipped off the P_A_F toggle from P to F to manually take over. It started home but continued to fly past till it ran out of battery and began to descend. I tried to steer it to a small opening in the trees but fell a few feet short and lost two props and a prop guard in a small tree. I had the exact spot displayed on the Ipad and found it with ease. Not sure what happened or why I lost control. It did this once before whereby I finished a mission downtown, it returned to the final waypoint close to me, then it started toward some trees on its own. I was able to regain manual control and save the aircraft. BE CAREFUL AND MONITOR THE AIRCRAFT AT ALL TIMES. LITCHI IS NOT 100% DEPENDABLE. With that said, I have flown some perfect missions, all at reasonably close range.

I set my WP to POI first then went back and changed to Interpol and the camera never tilted toward the POI. Any reason why?
@Sanuske48 жыл бұрын
The pitch never changed? I am uncertain honestly. What did you use to make the mission? Smart device or Mission Hub?
@lucaevano8 жыл бұрын
Husky-Flies i worked out that because I had no connection the gimbal won't tilt at the POI. It faces the POI but won't tilt. I am going to disable gimbal focus POI and set my own tilt. See if that works
@Sanuske48 жыл бұрын
Let me know how it works out and I wish you luck.
@lucaevano8 жыл бұрын
Yeh it works if you manually set gimbal when you take off. I had no signal all the flight and had gimbal set to disable POI. Drone faced the POI but gimbal stayed at my take off position. If you loose signal and have it set to POI and not disabled, when you lose signal the gimbal goes to standard position

Will using Litchi affect my warranty and is DJI okay with me using Litchi? Liked video !!
@Sanuske48 жыл бұрын
DJI makes a big selling point of the fact others can make third party applications for their drones. Furthermore third party developers have to go through an extensive vetting process before even being allowed to make such an extensive application. I expect that it would be fine, but I don't want to guarantee you something and be wrong. Thanks for watching!
