Listening to this through a stereo system with monster cables and the bass cranked. hard to quantify how incredible this music is.

Mad Delays, beautifull distortion and a good melodic voice. REALLY GOOD VIBRATIONS

i believe dave used a four track at times. but it also sounds like he may have done a home stereo, boombox dump. i used that method years before i ever got a four track. you record a pass on the boombox, pop out the tape, put the tape in your stereo, press play on your stereo and record on your boombox with a new tape, play along with a new passage and repeat till it sounds insane.

Feedback and distortion were a very 90's way of making music. I picked up an addiction to feedback-oriented bands back in the day. Still hooked.

@LiamAndrew11 Their releases always said "home recording is reinventing music" on the label. That's exactly what they did. They reinvented what music means.

@liamandrew11 They (or should I say he) wanted to keep it as DIY and far away from majors studios as possible. Which resulted it the amazingness that is Flying Saucer Attack.

As to the above commentary & whatever else... their sound is pretty much intentional...their version of the shoegazy / drone /whatever thing, it's about atmosphere not super-clean very produced sound. There's some My Bloody Valentine, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spacemen 3 that is similar in grindy, fuzzy, "underproduced" sound tone & vibe. If this atmosphere is too heady for you or not "clean" enough, split. For those of us who love it, we're good. Thnx.

@vrmendozavr261 I lean towards the first choice, as mamy similar bands show the same tendency (Bardo Pond, My Bloody Valentine, etc.)

Oh and btw, I f.ex love Nine Inch Nails. The Year Zero album uses similar "colours" to paint it's picture with noise. I just feel that Trent recorded, executed and progressively built up the feel in those songs somewhat better musically. But again, it's all about tastes man so let's agree to disagree :)

I know... I'm a cliché struggling musician broke and in debt myself. Doesn't mean you have to purposely record badly mixed noises overtoning eachother. It's all about taste in the end, and the thing is I like the singers voice and alot of the riffs used in places. So the rest of it ruins it for me personally. But eh whatever floats your boat. This is indeed art. Just feel like some people like it because of it's difference and "non mainstream" effect blaitently because of that.
