Great video. Only a drone could capture this perspective. Terrific definition. The viaduct is a massive structure and can only be appreciated when standing beside it and looking up. Had no idea it was so high. Bonus watching the "Scotsman". Keep up the good work.

That tracking shot following the train across the viaduct is soooo perfect. A master drone pilot and great videographer at work! Railway nostalgia at its best - very moving. The heroic Hans Zimmer-esque score adds nicely to the mood too. Hope to be travelling this line in the summer, but sadly with only an ordinary movie cam, not a drone. Lovely work - well done!

magicknuns wow great praise thanks. it was windy so was a bit harder than usual. been planned before flight. thanks again and glad you liked the video

I agree, lovely shots. But why must there be any music at all? Why must we always be told what to think/feel by a chain-jerking sound-track......? Why not just let the beautiful engine speak for herself?

@@skycamvideo well I went over on 30 August 2014 behind 46233, brilliant, would have been brillianter if it had been an A4. See a new word you just learnt brillianter. I couldn't resist it. Anyway I loved the footage.

@ryorgroupracers46087 жыл бұрын
Found itinerary from last month - for benefit of others wanting to see, passes over the viaduct heading north between approx 12.45-12.50pm most summer Sundays, and return pass heading south is approx 6pm. Saw it today, magnificent! Good to meet Brian & Kevin too!

A superb video, we are planning a trip later this year me with my Phantom 3 and Russell from sky view yorkshire with his S900, but are concerned about the amount of people always about, thinking maybe a Saturday evening would be best, thanks for a great video
@skycamvideo7 жыл бұрын
Julian Humphrey I was worried about that but if you go down near the bottom of the bridge it's quiet. lots up on the road etc but nobody low down. 3 people on south side of bridge that day. all of us flying. I've seen videos of early passing and was plastered with people then. good luck

Fantastic!! I am currently editing our recent ride in Cumbria and Yorkshire and would like to use your photo of The Flying Scotsman going over the viaduct, please. I will add the link to your video in the description field of the video. I don't monetise my videos, preferring to archive our many motorcycle rides. Please could you let me know about the photo as soon as possible so I can publish my video. Thank you and thanks for sharing.

I take it that was the return trip, we were there for the morning pass, with drone and DSLR, multitasking at its best lol. Just a quick question on the editing side, does it take a lot to straighten out the horizons on the video, i am flying a PH2 but the horizons are terrible. Also does your drone have the microphone as well, brill how you get the sound. :) Nice flying, the wind was just a tad breezy :)
@skycamvideo7 жыл бұрын
Tony Pickard no the sound is added in edit. the work of the horizon is done with the gimbal. no stabilising at all. a Mike would only pick up the motors anyway. lol
@demonkwsn7 жыл бұрын
Ah yes of course, nice. I get the gimbal steadies the video but with mine afterwards the horizon on playback seems to curve quite a lot. Maybe its just the camera on the pH2
@ryorgroupracers46086 жыл бұрын
Definitely the return trip, train is going south - you can see the farm, road and parked cars coming *after* the viaduct.
