Sarah knows how to motivate her students and she knows how to build their confidence. She is so calm and composed. Those are hallmarks of a great instructor.

You are the most lucky pilot on the planet. You spin circles in places the rest of city flyers dream about. Sarah is becoming a KZbin CFI SES sensation.

Sarah's very encouraging to you even when you don't get it perfect. Just like you are to your students. I like that she didn't tell you what she was going to have you doc it, you would have been all worried about that. She's a very good instructor. But you already knew that.

Love it! I'm just a simulator pilot, but these videos help a ton! My virtual float flying skills have improved so much by watching videos like these and it's so satisfying to apply real world tactics to the virtual environment. Every time I pull off a greaser I can't help but think back to the hours of footage between you, Josh, and Flight Chops. Without any of these I'd still be plunking and skipping my way down the lake!

That's awesome. I don't like the way seaplanes fly in the new FS2020. We need more attention on that.

Chris that is really cool, it seems like a combination of flying an airplane, boating and when your step taxiing, it seems like you are water skiing.

I was binge watching Kodiak float plane videos when this one came up. I promised my 18 year old I’ll pay for his pilots license training next summer when he is home from college. You can’t fly planes in here in New England & not have seaplane training & certification. I think I should send him to Alaska the next summer on a Tow Sawyer like adventure to get certified with Sarah.

Chris, Great job. Glad to see you learning too not just me in the IFR stuff. Aviation is one thing where I don't think you can ever stop learning. You also get to do it in one of the best places in the world. I have been toying with weather or not I want to continue on and get a commercial rating or not. Just going to finish this IFR and than we will see. Are you currently working on the ground school commercial course? Have a great week.

Chris do you give flights up to the glaciers and land on one? I have a friend who just retired from NASA who is coming up to Homer for a wedding in late August. One of his co-workers who also works for or worked for NASA is getting married in Homer. This guy was the chief test pilot for NASA's drone program. He's got a little project going on up on Mars right now? He indicated to me yesterday he would like to land on a glacier. I said I watch a KZbin flight series out of Homer so I would ask. Love your videos. Dennis

Orbx, an Australian scenery designer will release the U.S. governments best 5 meter mesh data in a package next week for all of Alaska for use in the new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. It contains the entire planet in 3D textures. Then with their new "fly anywhere" feature many of their planes now have optional floats. This opens Alaska bush flying for everyone on both Xbox X | S and PC. For PC it supports VR too. Now anyone can land on any one of Alaska's 3 million lakes with a great deal of reality. The water in that sim is technically perfect in looks. And with 2 Trillion different 3D tree models and all 3D bladed grass an weeds, the total look of reality is "insane". There also 1.5 billion 3D buildings in the sim. They claim everyone on the planet can now fly over their own home in 3D. Worked for me just yesterday. Also optional rain, snow, ice, and fog are fully supported in the sim too.
@angleofattack3 жыл бұрын
That sounds awesome! Where can I get it?
@mesillahills3 жыл бұрын
@@angleofattack Microsoft for the simulator and Orbx for the scenery. An Xbox series X is almost impossible to get at MSRP however. You can buy the sim and you get both the PC and Xbox version. Or you can get either one on Game Pass. The Xbox series X is now as powerful as a 3000+ PC. Hard to believe. And the sim runs well on a lower cost series S too. Avid gamers now use an LG OLED 4K gaming TV's with Dolby Vision. They call the picture "insane". Everything is 4K on the "X' and is support Dolby Vision as well.
