Having taken so many flights between Seattle and Anchorage, it really kills me to see how the inflight beverage/food service has changed so drastically. I don't believe that Covid is the total reason for this change but I wasn't asked for my opinion. Thanks for an excellent vlog, I look forward to some of your other ones!

Nice video. Before the Covid crisis came along and my position was eliminated, I was the Manager of Training at Silver Airways. It is my voice you hear on the recorded messages throughout the flight. Silver is a great airline with wonderful people. Thanks for showing it.

I took silver airlines three years ago from Tampa to Tallahassee and it was a very good flight I must tell you I did do Tampa to Jacksonville on the old US air express back on New Year’s Day 2000. It was a nice flight too. I flew out of that airport last year on Southwest back to Tampa from Terminal 1, but I was in the A concourse, so you departed from the other end of the terminal. I like flying out to Lauderdale when I come back to Tampa because I don’t have to deal with going through Miami etc. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and your family

Curious as to why they parked like they did at the terminal at JAX. If he had cut hard right about 20' back and parallel to the terminal which was a common procedure when the ATR was used more commonly he would have eliminated the need for a pushback on the TPA leg. My father flew the earliest ATRs for American Eagle in the late '80s-90s. A unique feature of the ATR was that if you were sitting in the bulkhead the tray tables were detachable and were kept in the overhead and would be clipped in for service. I remember siting in 1A and asking for the "A tray" many times. Even now CAE-FLL seems like a long leg for an ATR. Curious about the stage length on that route.

18:01 just under the clouds to the right is my home on East Lake Toho. Hard to fly over this area in my own plane because the bravo is so low at 900 ft because it's the approach path from the South into MCO. The Stratus is the pilots personal ADSB which shows weather/traffic/location that goes to his ipad. Crazy to think someone brought their stratus or that Silver uses a Stratus instead of some fancy system in their planes. I was waiting for someone to say DUUUUUVAAALLL getting into Jax.

Ahh, so it WAS the re-inaugural flight back into JAX last Monday (the 21st)! I was flying out to CHS on 3M later that morning and didn't put two-and-two together about the balloons. I would highly recommend that flight as well. It's a nearly 2.5 hour segment, but it's really the only direct link to FLL since B6 isn't flying that route currently (due to COVID), and those props put you right to sleep =)

Enjoyed the vlog. If youre departure stayed "on time" as indicated on the flight info at Ft Lauderdale, your flight averaged around 173 kts/hr. I wouldve thought the ATR 42-600 would have better performance than that. Im with your opinion that it is a steep uphill climb for this route to continue on a frequent basis.

Flight time is different from block time. Flight time is wheels up to wheels down and really only matters to airline operations personnel and the flight crew for flight planning and monitoring purposes. Block time (official arrival/departure time) start when the boarding door is closed/parking brake is released, includes all time on the ground before and after the actual airborne portion, and ends when the boarding door is opened at the arrival airport.
