I remember meeting a North Korean young man at a Korean supermarket once. He told me that his biggest shock was seeing his South Korean boss being similar to him, and that people outside were kind and nothing like what he had been told in school. That man risked his life to make it to safety.

1:59 Due to the fact that power outages are so common, it is actually considered higher status to live on the bottom floor in Pyongyang. That way you don't have to run all the way up and down the stairs since the elevators will not be running at times. Basically the complete opposite to the rest of the world where the top floors are usually the most sought after. If you live on the top floor of a 10+ story building in North Korea, you're getting a pretty big exercise daily.
