SOMETIMES, I wish l understood eagle talk...would be amazing to wonder what these two dear loving eagles r saying. I think, maybe they're still waiting abit longer on their eggs to hatch n l am too. Sometimes , l think they r sounding sad n l d be also. Great majestic eagles who soar thru the air....l love to see this. Regardless of little ones or not, we've been treasurerd to watch Jackie n Shadow!! They'll be back n so shall we❤❤🙏🙏🦅🦅

I realize this is the cycle of live, just so heartbreaking for us, and for them. The love they have for each other is so beautiful, amazing. Something we could learn from. Is she crying for her hatchlings? So sad. Wonderful that they mate for live. Wonder how long it will be before they could have another batch of eggs? Guess I'll have to read up on Eagles

@judidoren5582 Thank you very much for your great comment. ❤️🥰😍 Jackie 'talks' to Shadow the way she always does. I cannot see any difference. I do not think that she is crying at this point. It will take them both a few days to realize that the eggs are not viable and it will be a gradual process. Eagles can have one clutch a year unless they lose it very early (e.g. in February) then they can have another one. The female has been fertile for 3 months (January, February, March). There will be another clutch next year. I hope this one will be successful. They were successful in 2019 and 2022, so 2025 could be their year.

@judycahill8067 They will stay for a few more days. Nobody knows how long exactly. It can be a gradual process. They will still be near the nest. We will be able to watch them on CAM 2 which shows a lot of trees near the nest. They can also sometimes visit the nest. The live cam is all year round.

Jackie has been staying gone longer. Shadow would sit from 3-5 hours a day but now it's beginning to be 7-8 hours. They say Jackie is the one to decide when to leave. Might just be time change because it started this week.

I just love how Fiona gave Jackie a visit from behind and then immediately went to the front of Jackie where Fiona just seemed to want to say "Hello Jackie, how are you?" Her tiny front paws hoisting her head up and over just enough to get a look at Jackie, even if only for a very little while. 💖🐿🦅

Wing slaps are when they open their wings fully to protect the eggs, usually when something comes near, this was Fiona the flying squirrel this time

The official information in the RECAP is still the same: 'It is unlikely that the eggs will hatch at this point.' Nothing changed on 3-14-2024. Jackie and Shadow still sit on the nest but there is no confirmed PIP.

I’m probably wrong - but he seems to be getting on her nerves - remodeling while she has all this stress going on . She leaves - comes back with stick to show him how it’s done - gentle. ❤
