I think #3 would LOVE a set of throwing knives, so #2 and I discussed getting/making a target and I sent her to YOUR page here on YT to see how to make one. So happy to see you & your beautiful new little knife thrower! (Nice to see the husband, too.) Merry Christmas & God bless you and your whole family, Xolette!

Other than retrieval, are there any advantages a rope dart has over a regular throwing knife?
@Xolette8 жыл бұрын
If the rope is short enough, you can get longer no spin throws because the weight slows the rotation. I think Adam Celadin demonstrates that in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m36zaKysYquaZ8k But, I'd rather throw without a rope. It's easier to throw a "naked" knife. The rope and chain made it a bit difficult to throw.

You can use a much longer rope and have more versatility if you "lace" the rope around the fingers of your non-throwing hand, I'm not sure how to describe it, I think it's call 'flaking a rope' but you do it with your fingers. You let go just enough rope to reach your target

Your channel is very cool and inspiring, I've been interested in knife throwing for years. I would also like to make a practice board, some sort of variation to the one you have, one problem I've always run into is having limited space and worrying about the knives bouncing somewhere to break something or get lost. Need to watch more of your videos as I'm sure you cover many aspects of the art, but I'm curious when you're throwing a few knives at the same time, I'm sure that every once in a while they get nicked and you have to file them as it doesn't appear that you wear gloves to throw or practice. Obviously there are many followers and viewers of your channel, Keep up the good work!

The flag is meant to stabilize the dart, provide sound, and make the dart more visible (so you can easily spot it when swinging it around). Somewhere else said if the flag is placed a bit away from the dart, it can fool your enemies as to where the blade is too.
