My last days in Rome Italy ended with another meal of pizza and some sightseeing around the city. This was one of the most memorable trips to Europe for me. Not only did I eat some of the best pizza in my life, I also traveled to some of the most beautiful cities.

My grandfather (whom I’ve never met unfortunately) was a chef in L.A for Korean air. My mom tells me stories about his Korean friends and how they used to have gentlemen’s parties. (Cigars and extremely expensive scotch/whisky) I think he was so interesting lol. Every time I watch airplane reviews no matter what it’s based around I always think of him.

Rome is a cool city to visit. I am thankful to visit the city 9 years ago when I was studying abroad as an undergrad, and I really enjoyed the ancient churches and sites.

Italy is my favorite country I’ve ever been to, Florence was my favorite city too. But id love to go to Naples. As I went to Rome (great), Venice (stinky but great), Gimignano (great), and a few other small towns in Tuescany! Loved it.

I think Swiss is the best airline across the Atlantic. Even in economy the food is good, and they serve the heavenly Movenpick ice cream! 😋 Zurich is also a great airport to connect through.

What's funny is that, after I moved from the US to France, I met a mexican dude who told me people here can't decide if he's mexican or asian; apparently in many places both ethnicities are rare enough that if you're not Middle Eastern Brownish, then you must be (insert whichever they're thinking of at the time). To top it off my BF is half French and half Malagasy, and he's been mistaken for everything from Japanese, to Mexican, to Moroccan... and he deals constantly with people trying to figure out if he's muslim or not (even though both sides of his family were catholic/christian as hell). Basically, people hazard guesses whenever they're confronted with someone who doesn't fit into the categories they've developed based on their local tropes.

My dad is super duper, 110% Mexican, and one of his favorite stories to tell is from when we went to Disneyland about 20 years ago.. my mom took me to the bathroom, and when we came back my dad was laughing and told us that an Asian couple came up to him and started asking him for directions in their language 😂 they thought my dad was Asian, too.

The "throne" seats on Swiss are something special. A few years ago, I booked my sister on LK, and they charge a premium for these seats. Unless you have status, I think they wanted $100 each way.

I’m from Switzerland and yes, it is expensive, especially Zurich. The country though is incredibly beautiful and varied. You have the incredible mountains, the French-speaking part of Switzerland with Geneva, and the Italian part with palm trees and beautiful lakes, bordering Italy (only two hours from Milan).

If you like larger footwells, you got one of the best seats in Business Class. The bulkhead seats have a much larger footwell than the other seats, including the "throne" seats which you talked about.
