Vennytube Actually no. The ships in SC feel like paper, just like CoD does to play. Everything is so easy to do and it feels like the game is basically helping you to play it. Where as with ED the ships feels heavy and real, they feel like when you press the forward thrusters into maximum you actually move just like when you shoot in BF you are actually shooting. SC is a garbage game just like CoD no matter what they update it with it will always be behind ED

Smokey Nope It's more of a corvette than a cruiser. You might be able to push it and call it a frigate, depending on the eventual size of the other ships in the game (including non-player ones, of course). Think Rebel blockade runner rather than Acclamator assault ship.

PurgatorialFlame​​​ price yes rough outline of "dlc" is already decided and published. Was about 2 weeks into the kickstarter campaign. Update #12 ( www.kickstarter.com/projects/1461411552/elite-dangerous/posts/369170 ) Has the first definite outline and pricing of the walk arround expansion and pricing. While here the price was a reward level. Just like the early access, it will be less expensive as the reward was. The expansion finished will have a lower price than reward level was. Here it was 90£+ = full access with expansion. Which leaves a ~40-50 £ for one expansion difference to retail price. I think 25£ would be a reasonable price for the walk and land dlc. Also in the video in the update David lays out their development pkan. And t date all looks as planned. Which is quite impressive. But yea the offline to up I also don't get. Why not realese the server software but yea.  ----- Edit Man that video was 14.dec 2012. And still miss information is getting spread.

Imagine you are a mayor of the future. It's 2998 and every man worth his name has a fusion-powered, weapon-loaded spaceship. Would you allow manual control as it weaves between skyscrapers? It's not a cutscene per se. Although you don't have control of your ship, you can still get up and walk around. Also I've heard you might be able to manually land in more remote areas but I don't think that's confirmed.

Whos to say you'd need to weave between buildings? If you look at other futuristic lores a lot of planetary landings were at elevated landing pads so that you were above the buildings or you would dock at a station and be shuttled down planetside.

Hey Scott, you should try flying "upside down (no such thing in space)" when you wanna land into the landing pad. It's easier not to overshoot your landing pad. Once you are in a good position, flip right side up and land. It takes time getting used to but it's pretty good.

Ya, all the time wasted docking over and over, not to mention some accidental destruction of your ship because you are in the middle of docking and your kid screams, makes for another kind of grind in a game. I would hope for the eventual optional elimination of it when you have the auto-docking system as well. Don't make me wait through what is basically a cut-scene at that point.

Yes you will. I run with a GeForce GTX 570, intel i5 2500k and 8gb ram and it runs fine on high settings, maybe not 60fps at all times but it's enough for me and my old computer.

Maybe you have the still have the Anaconda, thinking of playing for some Frenchy myself but generally a die hard Federal. Good spotting the body temperature there . This was awhile, guess its an achievement or luck to get landing permits at random locations but thats a field shift to exploration I,m considering myself.Its good to help the local defense forces sure, and sometimes dangerous.

Vincent Rogers Technically speaking, people who have "bought" ships haven't actually bought anything. They've contributed to the funding of the game's development and been given game rewards based on their contributions. If you don't want to spend money on game stuff, just wait until the game is out, buy it for whatever normal price it is, and play. Everything people are spending lots of money on will be acquirable in-game without excessive effort (as I understand it).

Don't understand why there is a UI for landing on the pad (which seems to have a very limited range!) but there isn't a UI for actually flying through the docking port. It seems a bit silly that it is pure guesswork and that you have to have the hardpoints deployed to bring up something to use as a reference. Hope this is something FD are considering! (And while they're at it, some indication on the ship UI for whether or not the landing gear is deployed!) Other than that, E:D is looking damn good!
