Flying to Sudan for the FIRST TIME / Best Hotel in Khartoum 🇸🇩

Today, I am taking a flight from Nairobi, Kenya to a place that not many people visit which is Khartoum, Sudan.
For the best two and a half weeks I will be staying at the best hotel in Sudan which is the Al Salam Rotana Hotel in Khartoum. This hotel was very good but had outrageous prices in terms of accommodations ($280 for a standard hotel room) and food ($54 for the dinner buffet).
Right beside the Rotana Hotel, there is the Afra Mall, the largest mall in Sudan. This mall was a little run down but definitely had everything you'd need. And the highlight of this first day in Sudan is for sure the Sudanese people who are just SO SO SO welcoming!
Stay posted for this Sudan mini series as there is more to come!

Amazing vlog Dave! I really enjoyed watching this from Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺. I am a proud Sudanese 🇸🇩 and Eritrean 🇪🇷 citizen. I have lived in Sahafa, Khartoum for 16 years. Sudanese people are indeed very lovely and welcoming!! I strongly recommend that you visit Eritrea 🇪🇷 and I hope nothing but peace for my fellow Sudanese brothers and sisters 🇸🇩. BTW $24,000 Sudanese Pounds is a lot for just one meal, a lot has changed since I’ve left the country in 2013…wow!!!!

I lived in Sudan for 2years and half and I must say that it is really hot. It only gets cold during Dec-late Feb. Try riding a boat on the Nile River in the evening and try their coffee with spices. as an american, i used to love going to Ethiopia for a few days in transit. Now the ethiopians treat every foreigner as a Covid carrier, while the people live on top of each other, with no water, in Kazanchis, They even have begun to yell out faranji corona, in the streets. Its a shame what happened to Ethiopia...used to be so lovely. I only transit now and fly on, Bole is an absolute chaotic airport........you are correct, it used to be so much better

@@lovinlife6850 Ethiopia airlines was worst under TPLF TIGRIAN terrorist rule. In 2013 I flew with Ethiopian airlines from London to Addis Ababa/FINFINNE the interior of the plane was worn out, the food was home made by someone who didn't know how to cook, there was no TV screens nor any intertainment, they offer you coffee every 30 second which I can't stand, I don't know who told them coffee is good!! There was one white south African girl who was using the airliner the as a connection she started CRYING as soon as she got in. The plane and saying her boyfriend book it for her with disappointment. And I was praying the whole route to land safely so you are lying when you say because of the law enforcement in tigria the Ethiopian airline is bad. It has been bad the whole time.
