About me:
My name is Klaus (also go by Freddy), a former bean counter making up for lost time.
In 2018 I left the nine to five world to chase new experiences at home and abroad.
March 2020 comes along and the world stops, so did the ability to travel.
The global situation meant that I was to be separated from the mrs and little one for the next 12 months.
As im wrting this I am in Hotel Quaratine in Bangkok, its March 2021 im back.
Why youtube? I need something to keep me occupied, keep me out of trouble ..
If anything ill have memories to look back on and if others enjoy watching then everyone's a winner.
How long will I be here? no idea :) Im starting this channel from scratch, no experience, no ability and no expectations.

Freddy, I really enjoyed your videos and gave me a good insight in what to expect on returning to Thailand. I'm retired here in Bangkok and was suppose to return to Aussie last September, so I could cycle across Australia, but Covid knocked that on the head. I was seriously considering forking out the money to Quarantine in Aussie and returning via Phuket and doing the "Sand-box" Quarantine. After watching your videos, I have decided to wait until next year and hopefully things might improve. I thought the hotel you stayed was ok for the price, considering all meals were supplied. Your flight with SQ was so cheap. It's very hard to get flights to Syd because of the quota system and if you can, you have to pay about 2 to 3 times more than you paid. Best of luck with your future here in Thailand. (Just as a footnote: I found your music was too loud and I had to continually adjust my volume control on my computer accordingly)

Hi Jeff thank you. Yes trying to fly to OZ then back again would be painful. I will eventually head home but not for a while yet, we're comfortable here for now (I do miss the journey back and forth tho). Hopefully you get to cycle across Australia, I had always wanted to road trip around the country (maybe one day). The Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong can go as high as US$7000 a day. That is for single occupancy. $300 add'l a day for 2nd person.

If you go to London, At 5500 baht a day, you will find a hotel room be just over 100 sqft

For that price you could of done the golf package and play golf everyday when they were offering it,i think it stopped may 17.

The golf packages sounded good, they came into play after I booked everything. No regrets with where I stayed tho, end of the day was just happy to have the wheels in motion.

I’m pretty sure you chose the most expensive route possible. How does your insurance cost 854 USD?? That’s hella crazy. Especially the ASQ, you can find a decent one for 1500USD

The Insurance was for 12 months coverage, so would be cheaper if you’re only needing 3 or 6 months. With the ASQ there are way more cheaper options now, especially with the shorter 7 day time frame.
