I checked the ticket cost from South Africa to Svalbard, it's pretty expensive but worth it, it takes 2 stops to get there, but in future I'll definitely visit for polar day.

For our 50 wedding anniversary we stayed in Tromsø end of 2019. Guess what happend, my husband took the wrong suitcase in Oslo when we had to change flight😱3 nights without proper cloth etc.😭We could collect our suitcase in Oslo on our flight home. There was also a poor passager who missed HIS case🤔

Great to travel with you. It's soooo important to TRAVEL WITH THE RIGHT ATTITUDE. Your travel is part of the adventure. If you feel that it is a barrier to start/finish your adventure, you will always be frustrated, angry, etc. My last trip was a "milk-run", a 90 minute drive and 3 connecting flights in one day to get to my destination. With an 'adventurer' attitude, I was open to meeting so many great people along the way just in the airports and planes.

Wow, I didn't even know it was possible to take so many flights in 1 day. That's insane, haha! I would freak out, as delays are very common, which you've experienced yourself now. I've only had 1-transfer flights before. Stunning house in Portugal btw.

Longyearbyen has been on my bucket list since I started watching your videos a couple of years ago! I've looked at the cost of flights occasionally but my spouse and I didn't have passports, until now! This video prompted me to check the cost of a flight from Los Angeles to Longyearbyen with stops in Copenhagen and Oslo was $862. May have to seriously look into visiting in the next year! *that was for the middle of March BTW

honestly, svalbard seems utterly dreamy to me. small village, gorgeous views and just a magical life. it’s such a shame it’s so expensive to live and even just to GET there!! i hope one day i can be successful and even just visit :)

I live in Switzerland and one of the most hectic travel experiences I’ve had was getting back home from a funeral in the States. Had to fly from Savannah to Atlanta, Atlanta to Paris, Paris to Zürich and then take a 3 hour train from Zürich to Geneva 😵💫

First off, I wanted to thank you for all of the information in your videos. Last week, my wife and I flew from NYC to LYR for a wonderful few days of exploration! So many great culinary experiences in Longyearbyen! Loved the polar summer. Fortunately, our flights all worked out, and we were able to get to LYR with only one stopover in OSLO. I just started working for an airline (Edelweiss) as a flightattendant. About 5 times a year we actually have direct flights from Zurich to Longyearben. This year I missed it but next year I will definitely try to wish myself these flights🙈

I am a beach person but my body does so much better in cold weather. l live in California, my sister have a beautiful home in Alicante and I am anxious to go there soon. You reminded me my trip to Longyearbyen with my son a year ago. The same hotel in Oslo, change in Trømso and our surprise that we have to get off the plane 🤣. No drinks served due to covid etc but when I first saw Longyearbyen from airplane window, I felt like at home. Miss Svalbard so much. My son also.

I love the airport in Oslo, Gardermoen. Was there a couple of months ago and it was honestly one of the nicest airport ever. In America the airport security is not always the nicest, but in Norway i felt so welcome. Thanks for the video, great info:-)

I just saw this episode and we got caught in the SAS pilots strike of 2022. That was horrible trying to rearrange our flights back from Croatia to NY. Also, Tractor Supply is one my favorite places to buy clothes 😃 Thank you for sharing your stories!

I’ve been binge watching your videos. I was watching the live Christmas Eve video and it made me realize that watching you is helping me understand my middle daughter better. I also have 3 girls and my middle daughter is so much like you. A gamer, NOT a morning person, LOVES animals, a little bit of a loner.
