Regarding Grim, I've posted this here before, but you should get a second dog now. It would be good for him and unbelievably helpful to you when he passes away. Cecilia is a realist, but also a first time dog owner, and the void these gentle souls leave when they pass is cavernous.

i mean in nearly all the ways but legally you basically already are married as far as i can figure. you're in it together for the long haul and you both know it and that's that. congrats, you've already been married for a while lol (maybe the day he quit his former job for you? lol)

I think the word for the storage unit is "workshop". Sometimes people shorten that to "shop" but if you want to avoid confusion say workshop. Also, "shop" and "garage" can both be used to mean "professional establishment where a mechanic fixes your vehicle" but garage is also the enclosed building either attached or unattached to your house where you store your vehicle. If I said to another American English speaker, "I'm taking my car into the shop/garage this weekend" either way they'd know I was having something fixed or detailed. If I said "I park in the garage" or "we have a garage" they'd know I mean we keep our cars in a garage at our house, not that I own a professional garage (kinda gotta spell that one out.) I hope that helps. Sorry English is so dependent on context for meaning!
@stellangios2 сағат бұрын
And if you're wondering "then wait what's that thing that's not enclosed where you can park next to the house?" I do believe it's called a carport. (Btw there may be regionalisms I'm unaware of, I'm speaking only as a midland East Coast white American English speaker

If marriage in Norway is like Colorado, where my son and his fiancée decided to be married-they went and got the license, then on May the 4th (be with you), they said their vows at home and had the two dogs as their witnesses (Dog paw prints on marriage part of license!) 😂😂😂

When the sun is very high, and when the day is very bright (from mid May to early August) in Ireland, it feels oppressive. It's just too much. It would be time for me to take a trip to the nearest beach, or else remain inside. The summer months (May to July) in Portugal would be FAR too harsh for me. I wouldn't mind the early morning or late evening there at that time of year, but, from 11am to 3 pm, I'd have to stay indoors (to avoid the suns absolute power and glare). March or April would be lovely months there, I'd imagine. But Ireland is just fine, except for June and early July... the season for sunburn !

Hey Cecilia and Christoffer! I loved this Q&A! And you answered a couple of my questions, too, which made me happy! 😃 Recently found your awesome channel and have been binge watching everything! Am from the UK and love seeing your life. You’ve even inspired me to start learning Norwegian! Actually - if you could please let me know the difference in how you pronounce brother and bread I’d be grateful as they sound very similar to me! 😆 x

My mother was raised in N. Ireland and it used to be a tradition there to have kids sleep outside during the day in the cold in their prams. When she moved to the states in the 50s and put me in my pram out in the snow, someone called social services on her. I live in Northern Ireland now and don't see people doing this, but I live in a housing development and so maybe some put their kids out in the back. I've had to order the sunrise clock for the winter. I find masks to not be very helpful because they shift ... We get dark of course, but first light comes way too early.
