@@Acooo. The STEEL one at Europa opened in 1984 (Mack Rides) The very first WOODEN bobsled coaster built was in 1929 (almost 95 years ago) and Knoebels opened in 2013. 72 years after the very last wooden bobsled coaster was built in 1941 at Coney Island & it closed in 1974. There aren't many bobsled coasters in the world anymore, and no new ones are being built as far as I know. La Vibora at Six Flags Over Texas was very recently scrapped, leaving only Flying Turns at Knoebels and -Avalanche- Reptilian at Kings Dominion in the United States.

@@dardar1311 I wanna say that La Vibora was scrapped primarily due to capacity issues, which at a busy park like Six Flags Over Texas is an important consideration. It also wasn't the most popular of rides. I believe they're going to be constructing a dive coaster in that area of the park.

Knoebles is the most unique park in the US. It's free to go in and free to park and they have an area where you can camp. They have an rv area but also a place you can tent camp with full facilities for those campers. You can also rent cabins there. If parents are sick of the park there is an 18 hole golf course which is quite difficult. Lowest I ever shot there was 82 and I have a pretty low handicap. Also has the largest pool I've ever seen, it's like an acre big with all kinds of slides. Park also has a creek running right through it, you can fish inside the park but there are 100s of creeks and lakes for quality fishing for the sportsman. Plus they have kick ass rides. The wooden roller-coaster The Phoenix is voted in the top 10 wooden roller-coasters in the world every single year.

If that sign says it’s a safe ride, that’s all I need to know! Lol… I’m just glad that amusement parks have maintenance crews for each ride who is trained and experienced on that certain ride and is done daily, even gets checked during the day and there’s sensors on rides so the person on the control panel knows if there’s any problems or an emergency right away and they have the controls to stop the ride immediately. I’ve been going on roller coasters since the late 70s, there bigger and scarier now than then but I still love a fun roller coaster ride and when I turn the big 6-0 in November, I’m going to Six Flags in here California, to get on all the roller coasters! Well, maybe just a couple, I can only take so much scariness in one day.. Lol. 😁

@@JMarieCAlove Thank you for your comment. My comment wasn't about safety--it was about maintenance, failure points and down time. The more possible failure points, the more possible down time. The Flying Turns was built like a tank. The track was rock solid. It's unlikely that a failure of a car would have resulted in sever injury or death (just a lot of road rash). I'm not aware if that ever happened, but I sure wish I could have gone on the flying turns before it closed. Euclid park had a great history, but it ended when the original owner passed. His family didn't know how to innovate or invest. :( Euclid should never die in the history of amusement parks.) It was a great innovator. As I recall, the rocket cars (circling silver rocket cars) was created at Euclid. The Euclid Steeple Chase (fast merry-go-round) Ride was sold to Cedar Point--it's a marvel and I'm in awe about how beautiful the rides is. Much love, my fellow coaster park enthusiast. I hope you have more opportunities to do what we both love. I've aged out of the most extreme rides but can still ride some really fun coasters.

There is a mini train ride there that takes you out into the Pennsylvania forest land that you might appreciate. Even has it's own train tunnel.

If you're looking up amusement parks Knoebels would be a perfect for you because you only pay for what you ride. Free admission and free parking.

I go to Knoebels every year at summer. I went on that ride and I dropped tower when I was five.

This is a great ride. Been on it a number of times. Not smooth, so you get jostled quite a bit. Knoebels is a great amusement park in a beautiful setting. This particular ride was completed for several years but never opened due to safety issues. The rumor is that they couldn't get the cars to stay in the track. Always felt weird to goon rides close to it and see it just sitting there, unused. Knoebels also has the best bumper cars.

What part of the park is this next to and how long ago did it open? I haven't been to Knoebels in about 6 or 7 years now. Looks cool.

It was basically a trial and error build, took them many iterations to get the trains right in order for it to meet current safety standards. They actually wound up having to weigh the riders, as too much weight in each car can cause them to tip.

@@stephensmith8316 The whole reason it took so long was to make it NOT an Action Park ride
