Hi I have just spent the last six years dealing with elderly parents with dementia. Having lost both of them to this disease recently I have finally found time to do a massive declutter. Huge !! I literally can breathe now and having watched your video, I can now start implementing the Fly Lady system. Thanks for breaking it down for me. Cheers 🇨🇦👍😎❤️

Cheryl Fisher Did you have to do any decluttering first?
@marie-louiseweerheim4224
@marie-louiseweerheim4224 4 жыл бұрын
@@poolahpot no, you can start any time. The secret slob has a series here on KZbin to help you get started on daily routines! I found that so much time and energy can go to decluttering, (un)packing (we were moving) etc. And then for example piles of dishes (daily routine) stressed me out. When the daily routines go smootly you can add other things like decluttering. What I do now is declutter while I'm in a zone. So for example the week you clean the kitchen you also declutter in the kitchen.

MOSTLY I HAVE 😭 I made it a point to just focus on decluttering. From the attic to the garage! Let me just say it was an under taking.!🥴 But once it was done it was so nice! Now I will apply this towards keeping my home clean and decluttered🤗

If you read the book and follow what you can, it's a no fail system. If you struggle with procrastination, you'll find it hard to get going. That ofcourse applies to other cleaning/ decluttering systems too. I work in my zone and 5 minutes each other zone. Only 35 minutes a day. We spend more then that checking Facebook.

Common sense. Ask them if they want any of it and if they do they have 30 days to pick it up then it's trash. I went a step further because mine are trained to take responsibility. I said you have 30 days. Whatever you don't want take to goodwill I'll drive there and meet you. We'll grab a coffee. Type of thing. Or 60 days. Or if they're at school ...during Christmas break whatever . take and require ACTION

It is wonderful when someone who has struggled with something in their life, and has overcome it, is now helping others with the same problem. A lot of this stuff is mental. If the directions are confusing then we are going to go even further down the rabbit hole. We are already confused. That's why our houses look like they do. I open a cupboard and everything falls in my head. Complicated explanations can easily lead to overwhelmed feelings. So, gratitude gratitude gratitude. I am still in baby steps but already was starting to feel a bit confused about how the program looks overall. This cleared up a lot of confusion.

Hi Steph! So about 2 weeks ago I stumbled across Fly Lady...it defiantly caught my attention! I’m fact I started something similar on my own and well....it never really launched!🙃 Thank you for this video!! Love it & understand the system. I took your advice and got the book from the library. Finished the book in a week, made my control journal, used a binder I had, saw a peel & stick color page and put in the front (just did yesterday while video chatting with sisters😊) I have been doing baby steps and started putting into place my routines....come Monday morning I’m doing the zone decluttering! Oh! 2 things I did was pull all my cleaning supplies to one spot & pitched empty & never used items & split it up to Kitchen Bathroom Game room bathroom. Now I only have what I use and in each location so I’m not running for supplies, it’s easily within reach! I have always loved to clean 🤷‍♀️ but this is what I need-simple doable not all day, now I’ll find the time to scrapbook! Thanks to you and The Queen Fly Lady-Marla 😁

I like the Flylady system, because it also incorporates works that are outside of cleaning, i.e. stuff that one tends to procrastinate on, planning and even cleaning out your handbag/car. Obviously you can do whatever you want, but that a system actually mentions it helps. For me, I dont do everything that is said because I dont want to spend my little free time doing that much housework as a full time employee after my 9-5 job, I prioritize other things.

Thank you so much!!!! I was starting to feel overwhelmed as I head into week 4. However, this video has saved me!!! During Week 3 my husband and son have complimented me so much on everything from how great the house is looking to how much more calm and less stressed I am. That made me feel so great and more inspired. I notice in the last 2 days that they have been cleaning out their own areas too. You have helped me get a handle on doing this system in a real life way and I can't thank you enough! My life is changing in such wonderful ways and I am loving less stress. I feel like I am starting to run things instead of things running me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I am also more rested and WOW what a difference that is making in how I feel and my energy level.💗

Wow! This is so great to read! Amazing how changing yourself can have a 'rub off' effect on the people around you eh? My little kids are pumped about making beds and folding laundry now :)

Emptying garbage just once a week??? I have small trash cans in 4 places: the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and under my desk and they get emptied, new bags put in the cans, each day!

This video is sooooo helpful!!! I feel overwhelmed when I go to the Flylady site. I like that you suggest only doing the things YOU need to do. I’ve decided not to worry about the missions at all because they distract me from what is necessary for my home. This video clarified a lot for me and this is the 2nd time I’ve watched it lol and I have saved it in my Secret Slob file :) thanks so much!!!!! 😁

THANK YOU FOR THIS! Oh my goodness I’ve been a fly baby for about a year now and I’ve been struggling so much to get it figured out beyond the swish and swipe and the shiny sink. I get it now! I’m so glad to have watched your video!

You are brilliant Steph! This was super helpful and makes the system feel doable. Well articulated and upbeat! There are so many different components on the website- and they are great- but overwhelming. Your organized explanation made it make sense in my mind💗 blessings to you and yours this weekend!

I just started back working part-time, and it's been pretty overwhelming trying to stay on top of my house with a 1.5 yr old. Thanks for laying it out so simply. I've been wanting to try this system for awhile!
