I remember listening to this entire album for the first time when I was busy doing something a few years back. It was a great album to keep me pumped while I was busy at my work but then all of a sudden this song came on. It literally stopped me in my tracks and forced me to do nothing but listen to this song. I was amazed at the feeling it caused to swell within me. True talent and genius at its core. Props! I love you Flyleaf and I miss the old days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Kinleigh Clanton : In the book of "Divergent" there's a bunch of pages with info from the author and a quiz for which Faction you belong too, writing tips etc... In the info Veronica Roth gave, there's a list of songs that she primarily used for "Divergent". She uses quite a few from Flyleaf; including this one, "Chasm", and "Again".

Yep, I just finished Divergent and I read the playlist at the end. That's how I figured out about these songs, so I looked them up. Now I'm obsessed, and I literally listen to these songs 24/7 :)

Luciano's Logic absolutely nothing just exploded and intelligently arranged time (past, present, future), space(height, width, depth) and matter(solid, liquid, gas) which is a trinity of Trinity’s into existence for no apparent reason at all. A book is proof of an author, song is proof of a composer/s, a building is proof of an architect, creation is proof of the creator, therefore nature is proof of God. Thinking about the sun, moon, and stars, the way seasons work just to think all this is here by a random coincidence.... thats very unreasonable

Luciano's Logic look guy im not here to argue with you, but I’ll leave it to you to continue to think that books dont have authors, songs dont have composers, buildings with no architects, and nature with no creator.

So I’ve been listening to this song all year. My firstborn was raped by a trespasser on our property three years ago and a year later our landlords told us they didn’t want us here anymore. We’ve had many bad storms since then. I heard this song and that last section resonated in my soul. When I sing it, it’s like a release of all my anger and it brings me hope. Now I want to share it with my thirteen year old daughter who is suffering from depression and is cutting herself. I love how Lacey Sturm takes the hardcore ugly stuff and beings the Light of Jesus to it. Her songs are full of hope after the darkest storms.

It indeed is, and it cries out from the wells of the soul. It is the call from the Spirit to fight for the truth, for what is right and to live life for the greater good. God called to her through His Spirit when she was literally just about to end her life forever. When she was at her lowest point and ready to hang herself, God's spirit came over her and filled her with His peace. I too have physically felt God move in my body causing fear to leave, causing me to do things my normal mind is incapable of. He is alive and well, and is the source of life for all of humanity. I know that God has a plan for your life, and He loves you more than you can imagine. God bless.

God holds treasures and mysteries for those who are helpless and have no hope. Take courage and push through, for God has sent His spirit down to us to comfort us. God has literally moved in my body causing me to let go of fear and do things that my normal mind is incapable of. He is the one that makes me able to live life with sanity and peace. In my mortal mind, I have no strength or commitment to help others, or have any joy in life at all, but I have reached out for God, and he has helped me feel alive and strong enough to face life. Read the gospels and the book of Acts, then read the Bible all the way through if you can. It has shown me how to live the best I can and be there for others and help them. God has a plan for you and loves you more than you will ever know. God bless.

Why are you all upset that an extremely notable author has recommended your precious band? I'm sorry Divergent fans can't listen to your music as well. Flyleaf fans should be proud that such an accomplished author such as Veronica Roth likes your band instead of scolding us for liking the same music. It doesn't matter where we all came from, we like the same music so stop being greedy just because you found Flyleaf due to your "superior" music taste.

what a great song ..love to play on guitar..this song almost makes you believe in the world and life..almost gives a false hope that we are special when all we are is adrift on a sea of loss and anguish with a all consuming blackness waiting for us when death comes. advice is don't be close to anyone.you will watch them age and die..you will know a taste of hurt and bitterness that cannot be comforted..it is better to have been nothing in the end.to never know the pain of loss.

So needless to say recently I’ve been thru a break up. And I fell so deep in love with him. And the way I feel right now is I’m depressed and sad and I’m trying to find my self in the aftermath of everything and him leaving me. I’ve been so sad. It’s been five months already and still I have trouble sleeping sometimes because I miss him so much. And then I hear this song..... she says sing to me about the end of the world. End of these hammers and needles for you. I feel like the point that I’m in my life right now, it’s like everything that in dealing with on top of this covid19 pandemic it’s like the end of the world (in my head anyways) and end of these hammers and needles for you: it’s like thru the end the world I’m dealing with all these hardships and hammers and needles and I’m constantly dealing with pain and deep down I just want him by my side. And then she’s like arise and be all that you dreamed. It’s like it’s time for me to arise and find myself again in all this chaos Arise and be the best me that I can be no matter what. Be the best me and be the strongest me I can be. (Trust me I know this is a Christian band and I know she’s not singing about heartbreak but her choice of words and her message resonates with me)
