There are not many places in the world where you can catch a 20 lb Rainbow trout on foot. Jurassic lake is one of those places. Located in southern Patagonia, Jurassic Lake, also known as Lago Strobel, is home to some of the most consistent fishing for large rainbows found anywhere on the planet. It's windy, it's desolate, and it's remote. But, if you have the chance to spend a few days casting to these fish, they will undoubtedly haunt your dreams. We spent a week with Estancia Laguna Verde getting a taste for what was below the magical water's surface.

I have fished here for a week. Stunning place, stunning fish. I always remember the first night, Hooke a small fish. The next fish that took as darkness fell took all my line to the end of the backing - ping! One day the wind change direction, it sounded as if an organ was playing through that porous limestone. Yes, the place and fish still haunt me!

Every time I see these incredible bows in such a protected location, I can't help but be so gifted and grateful that historically, these bows came from my backyard in California. This incredible lake proves with the right location and food what an epic fishery you can make.

I can call this episode near from home! I have the luck of living a half day's drive from Strobel lake... Still don't have the chance to go there! One day maybe...

Wow, what an absolutely stunning video showcasing Strobel Lake in Patagonia! The beautiful images, slow motion shots, and drone footage truly captured the essence of this magical place. It's amazing how a video can transport you back to a cherished memory. I was fortunate enough to visit Strobel Lake two weeks ago and spend time with the incredible guides at Estancia Laguna Verde. They quickly became friends, and the experience was truly priceless. The end of the video perfectly sums it up: 'once you catch one of these rainbows, then wherever you go, whatever you may do, they will forever haunt your dreams.' It's so true! Every time I see those Bows in that lake , I tell myself, those Bows came from my backyard in California and Some day I hope to visit those you in that lake . Then tell them hello from home of your original place of birth. I have such love for those fish.
