its as magical as it is insanely inaccessible and remote.. the tours there are a sham, for $7k you can have a completely independent 2 week spree of do-whatever-you-want there including renting ATVs Cars, buying tents and fishing gear and tickets food gas, all you need is someone who speaks the language or an offline translator the lake is also known as jurassic lake

An incredible thought is these fish might be even larger if the genetic stock was ideal. Long age to first maturation results in the biggest fish. Have to look into this!

Could you record a video clip showing graylings and hucho hucho the queen of rivers ?
@humboldtfisher83198 жыл бұрын
On big fish I prefer getting my line on the reel and letting the drag assist in landing the fish.
@ptuffgong85047 жыл бұрын
Humboldt Fisher I was thinking the same thing. She's better than I am. I often snap off large fish if I don't use the drag.
@wildjohnack6 жыл бұрын
Actually, it seems these fish don’t run. They just thrash. Harder to get them on the reel if they don’t help you out a little.I get that you want to stop them given the structure they can get into, but seems like a weird fight- at least from the video.

can somebody explain to me why she has one rod setup with what looks like a fly line attached to backing attached to another backing?
@CatchMagazine9 жыл бұрын
***** She is fishing a switch rod. The Airflo line system includes, backing, then a running line attached to the head of the fly line.
@Mrsouthernsurvivor8 жыл бұрын
Go ahead and cast a single handed rod into a 30 mph head wind for a day, and you will understand why she is using a switch.

@flyfshrmn096 жыл бұрын
Given the conditions and the size of the fish, I would put those fish on the reel immediately rather than stripping them in by hand. keeps all the slack line out of your way as well and allows you to pull the rod into your body and brace it so your arms aren't taking all the strain.
@BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists8 жыл бұрын
The sterile appearance of this lake nearly defies its productivity. As with so many lakes, the answer lies in some very subtle aspects of this lake. Very interesting.
