Thank you so much for uploading this. The high resolution allows for a clear view of all the details in the cockpit, making it easy to see the actions taken and everything displayed on the screen. I'm learning things that will help make my flight simulator experience on PC a bit more realistic.

Great video! Definitely highlights the importance of a sterile cockpit and working as a team. There are a few things I'd approach a bit differently, especially when your FO says "after 3000" and you respond "I know:.... When asking him to select it next time... state why because, in his head he's thinking 3000, and can't read your mind on what you want, just kindly state to them that you want it early and insert your reason... Besides that, great video!

Yes, I was watching the video and it was looking a bit odd) we were approaching 3000’, so the plan was to prepare LNAV for the turn, and by the time we program the FMC we reach 3000’. Since I was hand flying initiated the turn at exactly 3000’) I agree with your comment, thank you, that’s a great feedback!

The ''I know'' response was definitely bad CRM, it was just a misunderstanding of what was wanted. Other things I noticed was the strange 3 second delay between the positive rate and gear up call. You also asked for gear down while ATC was speaking to you, and it's no surprise that your colleague doesn't hear the call.

@@timeslidez Well, if you look at this episode again, you’ll notice that once we got an ATC instruction and PM responded to the ATC I have acknowledged an altitude of “16 thousand and 3000’ to BIPKO”. Then approaching 3000’ I have asked for a “BIPKO as an active point” so by the time it’s done and executed we can have LNAV to commence the turn at 3000’. PM advised “BIPKO after 3000’” (in fact ATC wanted a turn AT 3000’) so I acknowledged that ONE MORE TIME and advised him that I KNOW that we turn at 3000’. I would disagree that it was a “misunderstanding of what was wanted” as I have clearly asked for “BIPKO as an active point” and acknowledged TWICE that I will commence the turn at 3000’. Regarding Gear UP call, if you watch the video again, you will hear me asking for gear up twice (first time before the PM’s positive rate call, as the PM’s call was somewhat late as FCTM suggest the positive rate call is confirmed with the altimeter). The gear down call was in between the transmissions between an ATC and PM, after the ATC’s and before the PM’s transmission. Thank you for your comment, I like the engagement and would love some feedback as well as critique on other videos:)

You don't need to use capital letters in your reply, it does not portray someone who is open to critique. You are being overly pedantic if you think ATC want you to turn exactly at 3000'. All you did by executing the direct before 3000' is you delayed the turn and overshot the LNAV track, leading to an unnessasary left turn afterwards to regain the track, your PM correctly identified this and was right to ask if you wanted a new LNAV track to the waypoint. If it's me, I wait until 3000', give my PM a chance to follow the clearance, and if he doesn't then I direct him. Again I believe your early direction was bad for CRM. Ah yes, you did call for gear up at the same time your colleague called positive rate. Looking at the altimeter, it's quite obvious that his positive rate call is not late at all. Again your early direction was bad for CRM and all it did was delay landing gear retraction. Regarding the gear down call, yes it does seem the audio is out of sync at this point, so I can't accurately comment on this. @@flymax

I see no problem using capital letter to emphasise something. How can it describe someone at all and me not being open to critique? Pedantic or not, it was na ATC instruction. Also, the way you suggested doing it I guess would be just fine as well, not a big deal, if I did it different it doesn't mean that I do it wrong or have bad CRM, I just did it different then you have commented you would do. I have never said that I'm perfect and tell someone to do same as I do. Same with the gear up call, we were passing 130' on the baro and 24' on radio, it was clearly positive rate, so I called gear up as I didn't know when I will have a call from the PM, happens people forget, so I better call when I see the need for it then get distracted and forget doing it. No issue at all, we worked it, took our pax to their destination safely and enjoyed our flight. Thank you for your comment, if you have something to bring up on other videos I would love to hear the critique, as it will only make me a better pilot, as the pilot is always learning.

I understand the feeling. But Boeing should’ve designed a 737 replacement in the 90s instead of just keeping adding newer more efficient engines. I know the 737 flies very well, but it’s still an old bucket from the past. It doesn’t compare well with any other aircraft, be it from Airbus or Boeing.

Question: If the take off and landing are flown manually, why are youand the FO adjusting the audio pilot settings? I'm guessing the autopilot is controlling descent rate, but I'm just an enthusiast, so I don't know which dials do which. Also, why do the autopilot numbers flash throughout the video? I thought it was the camera refresh rate, but during landing, the numbers are solid.

from my understand for the first question, they're adjusting the AP settings bc they follow the FDs and the AP settings need to be adjusted with the correct informations for the FDs to work correctly

My understanding from what I’ve heard is English will be spoken if their are other English speakers on frequency, however if it’s just the controller and someone who speaks the language of the area they regularly will converse in that language, until an English speaker joins they do it in Europe and some Latin countries

Thank you for your comment. If you noticed I have shown you the takeoff and landing, which are considered critical phases of flight. The video length is 11 min of those two events. At which part of those would you like me to make jokes, smile and tell stories? The flight was 5 hours and 10 mins so no worries we had enough time for other communication, stories and smiles, but those 10 minutes are meant to be focused and concentrated.
