Until I heard the captain introduce himself, I wasn't sure he was Polish as his English pronounciation and accent are amazing. In fact, both pilots' use of English is great. 1:20:16 as a man who is interested in aviation but doesn't know much - is it rare that pilots finish landing checklist that fast or not?
@Dmnick1554 ай бұрын
Landing checklists are relatively short, because most of the work you do during approach.
@mscigniewrudzinski50534 күн бұрын
That’s because the checklists for airliners (type rating required) are meant to be done after you’ve completed the steps already, just for checking porpoises. On the other hand, general aviation planes like Cessnas, you are not required to have a specific type rating, meaning you can switch between many types under one license, hence the checklists are meant to be used in a read and do way. You read one position off the list, verify, adjust, confirm and so on. This takes much longer.

The crew is super professional. I cannot hear the typical heavy Polish accent. CRM is exemplary. Cockpit looks like taken from some futuristic movie. I remember planes manufactured in the 70's, 80's and even 90's - it's like comparing digital phone sets with smartphones. It's a new age of passenger flying. I believe that in the near future we will see one pilot in the cockpit, like in trains. Thank you for all your presentations, which give us (passengers) an insight into the pilots' work.
@jeanpeuplu55704 ай бұрын
One pilot in the cockpit is a nightmare we all should fear of and protest against. Like in trains?? Jeez, you live in a cartoon, don't ya? ^^
@adamciesielski58894 ай бұрын
@@jeanpeuplu5570 What do you fear? Be precise. Yes, I envision just one pilot in the cockpit, like in trains - it's not a cartoon world, but the future. There were 4 pilots initially on board, then 3 of them, now 2 of them. What is so cartoonish of predicting that only one of them would be needed there to supervise automation? Like in trains, exactly? Or even none of them? I am 60 years old and am open-minded. It's a new digitial age.
@jeanpeuplu55704 ай бұрын
@@adamciesielski5889 What is to fear? Well, ask a professional pilot, which I'm not. All I can say is that it's immensely more complex to fly in the air than to roll on rails! And yes, under certain ideal circumstances a jetliner can already land "on its own". What is required here, as you probably know, is a perfectly calibrated and functional ILS. And of course a perfectly functional airplane. But what if something unexpected happen? Like a engine failure or whatever? That's a good question, isn't it? Another good question, maybe even more crucial: what's the benefit of NOT having a human being in the cockpit? I'm your age, btw ;)
