Crabs foam at the mouth when they breathe air instead of water while on land. This is because all crabs have gills, which need to be wet to function properly. When crabs are out of water, they use fluid from their bodies to blow bubbles, which they then breathe air into. As the crab oxygenates itself, air passes over the moisture in its gills, causing the bubbles.

You could sew a little pocket onto one of the stuffed cuttle fish you made and it could be Flynn's tooth fairy pillow! I hated having loose teeth also, but my little tooth pillow was always a comfort when it finally fell out and waiting for the tooth fairy to come!

I think a fun thing you can do is maybe design a little tooth fairy box with Flynn! I had a cute little fairy box to put my teeth in at night on my nightstand! That could make it more exciting for him to prepare for this process of losing his tooth, and for the tooth fairy to come in town and leave him a little present! And maybe you can make more ocean themed things as his gifts from the tooth fairy, instead of the traditional dollar, since these are interests that are special to him! 🥰

Flynn reminds me so much of my youngest! She also loves animals, rock finding, and going to the beach. I watch your videos and reminisce about our precious times when she was that age. She is now 20 and about to leave home for the first time. So thank you for the many trips into memory lane.

Flynn!!! I was soooo scared when my first tooth was about to come out. I remember crying and being so scared. But the tooth fairy will come visit and it will be so fun! I promise! Take it from someone who is scared of the dentist 😂❤ You’re a brave little dude!!!

I’m crying I know exactly what you mean about the baby teeth, we just get used to our babies’ smiles and their little teeth and we just think everything about them is perfect and precious and magical and their smile is certainly one of the most characteristic aspect they have and so it’s a lot! But their new smile will also be perfect to us, I’m literally so emotional thinking about it😩

It's emotional when my kids lose their teeth as well. My eldest started losing his teeth recently & what we did to make it exciting at first was having him write a note to put under his pillow for what he wanted the tooth fairy to leave him. We talked about it ahead of time when writing the note so it gave us a little time to prepare. He always wanted a hot wheels so that was pretty easy. Eventually he wanted to save up money so we switched to a dollar & he can pick his own prizes. Congratulations Flynn & family on this milestone!!

Girl, do I get that feel! My kid is 15 and I still get teary witnessing your kiddos go through milestones and reliving those moments we experienced. The change in the teeth was a bid deal for me too because they look so different. They’ll always be our babies, but they won’t ever be babies again 😩 😭

Reposting from last week:) not a Tortilla Talk Question, but a Tortilla Talk story that I hope you see!!❤ Growing up on one of the Great Lakes (Erie), I have always spent a lot of time on beaches, and have been collecting rocks ever since I can remember. Last summer when you were taking a break, I dove deep into the rock side of tiktok, and purchased a rock tumbler of my own. When you returned, I was so happy to see that we have the same hobby, and you are just as excited about it as I am! This winter and spring I took advantage of all the nice weather days I could, and would have mental reset days collecting rocks and watching the waves on local beaches. Due to this current hyper fixation, my boyfriend of 6 years and I planned a week long road trip to visit all 5 Great Lakes, in hopes of seeing beautiful views, and collecting some rocks from each lake to tumble and display in our new house. Together, we found many beautiful rocks, but I ended up receiving the most special rock of my life! While rock hounding on a quiet beach on Lake Superior, on a perfect sunny day, I turned around to my boyfriend (now fiancé!!!!!) on one knee holding out a ring! He asked me to marry him in the most beautiful special way I could have ever imagined! The stone on the ring is a Herkimer Diamond, which is a gemstone than can only be found in a small town in upstate NY, where he grew up. He has mined for gems in this town many times and a kid, and we have gone camping in this area countless times since we started dating. Congrats on the loose tooth Finn!! My daughter was pretty freaked out about her teeth falling out at first….a tip I could tell a parent is to NOT put the tooth under their pillow. Trying to find it in the middle of the night without waking the kid is so stressful!

My nephew is turning 5 in November and I saw his teeth come in…and now he has lost 2 of them. Growing kids bring a lot of grief and it’s ok to let go and move onto the next stage of life. You can grow with him!

Aww Flynn!! He will be okay . I remeber loosing my first tooth!! I was in my first year of school I think I was 4 and I was eating an apple and I thought I got a seed but when I bit down it didn’t break and I spat it out and it was my tooth! I was a little worried I just told my teacher and they smiled got me excited and told me I was getting a visit from the tooth fairy. I really think if you try and get Flynn hyped up and excited he won’t worry as much when it comes out and just reassure him like you have been that it’s normal and doesn’t hurt. What made me feel better is my mum promising me I would get a brand new one and she explained I will be able to feel it already coming through as that’s why the tooth came out as it was pushed. Your allowed to feel emotional about it Colleen your his mom and he is your baby! And it’s hard when time flies past so quick ❤ also Maisy telling you that you needed a time out made me laugh that’s so so funny 😂

I was walking out of the venue and right away you were the first person that I saw and I asked to take a picture I was super starstruck when saw you because I've been a big fan of you since I was little and I wish I could've told you how much you meant to me when I met you, but I was too shocked because I couldn't believe that I was meeting my favorite KZbinr. Hi Colleen! Super fan here. My LO is only 2 months younger than the twins and I have always admired your parenting style. Your so patient and empathetic I think it's one of the beautiful parts about you ❤this is kind of a TTQ and a mix of parenting advice. We will be transitioning our LO to a big girl bed and me being an overwhelmed FTM as I normally am I just have ALL the questions in my mind but no answers 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ anyways what are your tips and tricks for this milestone? What was your experience with Flynn moving to a big boy bed? I'm super paranoid about everything now that she (my LO) will be having full range of her room. Things like the plug to the camera in her room ... The plugged in hatch... The cord to them.... Just super anxious. Any tips would be sooooooo helpful.

My son was a lot like Flynn the first time he had a loose tooth. However we did not talk about it a whole lot while it was really loose per his request. He did very well with it. It came out all on its own. He was very excited when it came out, because it was over with. We don't do the tooth ferry at our house but Mom and Dad give him some money when they fall out. He is now 10 and has lost most of his teeth. He is much better with them now and get very excited when I don't have small bills. One day he lost 2 and got $40!!! We now joke that he knocks his teeth out when he wants some money lol. Good luck, I hope Flynn feels better about the whole process soon. You have a lot of teeth to go through in the coming years.

Omg growing up I was TERRIFIED of losing teeth. I was super excited when I was younger and lost my first few teeth, but by the time I was like 8 or 9 I would freak out when my teeth were loose. Then one day my mom took me to the dentist and told the dentist to pull out the rest of my baby teeth without telling me. They pulled out like 6 teeth. I feel like any other kid would freak out at that but I was so happy lol

I think Flynn might be some kind of scientist someday. Marine Biologist, Zoologist Entomologist, etc. He is so curious and very detail oriented. Most moms can relate to how you are feeling about your children getting older so fast and passing these milestones.
