Bill mentioned the drummer for Russian Circles but couldn't recall his name, which is Dave Turncrantz. Everything he said about him was right on point. Dave is such an under the radar badass. I'm glad to hear Bill giving such an underappreciated musician some love.

I have lost track of how many Fly on the Wall episodes i have watched now and i have loved them all, but i have noticed David has some funny jokes or funny things he’ll slide into the conversations and no one seems to notice. Maybe it’s my type of humor and that’s why i get it, but to me it deserves more recognition. I hear you David. You are seen 😂. I love this pod. And no, David did not pay me to type this into the comment section….i swear……. (c’mon David, $5…really?)

Bill Burr's accurate comment about relevance and how to stay relevant. That is the Truth. And speaks to everything else that's going on in our lives. Comedians provide a space in our consciousness. Bill is only into Meshuggah because he wants to be cool with his listeners. Yes, he acknowledges the skill level needed to play like they do, but he doesn't really like it for regular listening. Truth is, he can't listen to more than one 5 minute clip of them, it's too noisy.

@@ANONANONANON240 he appreciates musicianship (artisan-level craft, generally) regardless of personal taste. not just musicians, but other comedians, cooks, athletes, etc. it's a big part of who he is. what that has to do with backwards cynical bs projections re wanting to be cool with listeners (most of which had never heard of meshuggah before burr mentioned 'em of his podcast), idk. I always feel like Louis CK is like the proverbial “elephant in the room” in these conversations because he was among the best and top comedians in so many of these venues for so long.
