Amazing video! Always extremely informative, helpful, and builds our confidence to DIY. I spoke to the owner of a local custom lighting shop, who used to do retros (oven/un-seal/halo/demon eye/seq/etc/butyl re-seal). He said they gave it up cause they were ruining some lights in the oven, from off-gassing. Have you heard/seen of this? Is it something to be concerned about? Does it have to do with the sealant the manufacturer uses? I have a Hyundai Veloster N. Thanks bro.

I use antistatics for work. I use a special strap that clips around my footwear and my calf and I stand on a grounded mat. I hate wrist straps they catch on everything.

Make sure you use retro rubber to reseal, and check all your caps. Also add a pack of silica if you need to.

Can you do a video or just a summary of how to open lights that use the permanent seal like the sprinter. That stuff just remains pretty much hard even if you put it in the oven. What do you use on those? Any advice would be just amazing. I butchered my sprinter headlights and when I get the new ones I don't want to mess them up again. On a sprinter they're a pain in the ass. One installer I met in Arizona said he won't mess with that car and if he does it's 500 bucks just to open the headlights.

Curious about the oven process. Why not use boiling water? At 212F, it's pretty close to the 220 of the oven, and you don't risk the radiant heat concentrating on one spot. You would have to remove the bulbs/wires, but the even, consistent heat might be worth the trade-off.

SUPER HELPFUL VIDEOS @FlyRyde !! How many minutes do you need to put the light back in the oven for the resealing portion ? The same 7 minutes? Also, I noticed you used clamps to help push the lens back into the housing; but you only needed them briefly--is it just safer than pushing it back together by hand? 2003 Monte Carlo tail lights 200F won’t come open @ 14 mins each regular oven.. … trying 220F bought new OEM tail lights ($200) to replace both broken lens on my aftermarket barracuda tail lights($450+ a pair) did this once before . Last time used only Heat gun and it worked kind of but had to cover the edges with electrical tape because they melted and went white from lack of patience haha ugh any tips ?

Just a lil silly tip. I use plastic clip puller wedges as i remove. Pry open, put clip in, pry and wedge. Stops it moving back. ❤

The biggest thing that should be pointed out is DO NOT TRUST your oven temp, put a cheap $10 thermometer that stays in your oven. My brand new $1800 oven is off by as much as 60° so I have 2 different brand thermometers inside & have learned what to set my oven to using those, not what my oven says. This is a very common issue that should have been explained.

I had custom headlights made a year ago. They must up. I while back I brought them inside to dry out overnight and added more sealant around the whole edge to try help but still must up but still must up. Any suggestions? I did think to put in a cardboard box with hair dryer for a while to try fully dry them. But not sure how long is safe to leave them like that?

FlyRyde In the 1st Gens, I like to paint the projector the same color as the car, and make a claw appearance with the surrounding bezels with paint, like it's a weapon ready to fire a plasma blast from the projector. All other bezel parts black, if they want tubes, cool. Cold white/Sequential Signal Amber signal, Or RGBW digital tube.... Or both Digital tube and then Sequential signal Via switchback modules... Then obviously RGBW Demon Eyes. Kinda a small lense in the gen 1 though but it's still cool. Sometimes I put 80mm Halo on them and folks love it... Sits right on the edge of the projector shroud /lense combo. Gen 2 is even more customizable like you said! I've made some real masterpieces when folks tell me to let loose and do whatever. I'd love to show you some pics of my builds Chris. I would love to work for you/with you too. I have crazy experience. I'm not good with making videos and stuff like you and Sinister are... because I don't like dinking on my phone, comp and apps. But I do some damnnnn crazy work. :)

Alot of vehicles have easy headlights to open, i can name a few that dont just open with bare hands? How do you go about opening lets say the first gen CHALLENGERS. The 06-10 model challengers are hell. 06-10 chargers are so easy u barely need heat. Just wanna see a tutorial on some that dont open so easy
