Aw man, I could hear your frustration! Whenever I see an art supply advertised on Instagram I search for it on Amazon and I usually can find it for a quarter if the price. At least if it's crap you pay less 😆

I should have done that Lindsay. Impulse buy. Really though, I cannot recommend these, just waaaay too many issues going on with these. Good ol silver sharpie seems to work just as well.

I too recommend the molotow chrome markers, it goes down gorgeous on just about everything. The metallic sharpies are also fantadtic for that price. I would have liked to see how these works on a non porous surface though.

Thanks for this! I could hear your frustration all along, yet you pushed through. I recommend Molotow liquid chrome: they are sold without packaging, they are refillable and have exchangeable new nibs. This kind of markers work best in coated paper or metal. They will stay super shiny there. Again, thanks for the review.

That would drive me nuts. I guess the smaller Posco ones for paint markers would still work for me. I also love the Molotow permanent markers and they are awesome for line and draw. My Pitt markers dried up on me within 2 months and many just are a waste. Hence I have a dip pen and the Molotow markers and I love that they are permanent. Your review was just as great and the company should be able to make the changes. Take care Marty it’s always a pleasure to see you and what goodies you have found.

If you draw on a non porus surface it will, dry super shiney. Avoid the packaging by getting molotow liquid chrome instead, no outter packaging, it that has refills and replacement nibs, so far better.

If you're in the market for a shiny silver marker then try the Molotow Liquid Chrome line of pens. They come in various nib sizes and the shine on the lines they lay down looks like actual automobile chrome. Just so you know,, I appreciate your honest reviews! One reason why I watch your video is that I know you're a straight arrow. This is the first time I've heard of that pen, but I've been warned! You've shown that you can dislike a product yet your review isn't ripping apart the whole company, just the package. See what I did there!? 😆 Happy Thanksgiving!

POSCA pens have a similar plastic wrapping, I just twist the cap to break it then peel it off.
@owingsart3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I tried that several times because I know what you mean about the POSCA's, but it did not work on these.
@RealmsOfThePossible3 жыл бұрын
@@owingsart I see, guessing the plastic is more flexible? Does seem like poor design all around, the boxing is overkill for sure, I guess they were trying to be more 'executive' like when you get pens in presentation boxes.

Your review is not too grumpy. I finally gave up on most markers - even the W & N markers, which are the best, are frustrating to me. When I use pens, they are fountain pens. When I want something that looks like a marker, lately, I use my iPad Pro and Procreate - I can erase and undo, I can change the thickness and character of the line, I can smudge and best of all, I can erase! I still like the feeling of working on paper, and I still love my watercolors, but it’s so convenient to be able to work in my living room and not have my husband scold me for being messy!

Hi Marty first up when I first saw the box I thought there was more than one markers in the box. Yeah I get the point of wasting packaging. What I do with cheap acrylic paint markers I buy in my country is I use them on gesso surface and it works well

I think they have it in a box to deter shoplifting. I'm glad it is sealed to keep it fresh. I'm used to opening plastic film.
@owingsart3 жыл бұрын
None of the similar products by other companies are packaged this way, none. The seal isn't the issue, the incredible difficulty of opening it is. If any of these isn't a big enough downside, the markers themselves perform poorly and they are more expensive than a Sharpie, which is just as good.

I've used similar markers; but, not that brand. I don't think you were grumpy at all. I hope you let the manufacturer know your thoughts, if you think that it will do any good. I've tried the Sharpie markers in gold, silver, and copper and did not like any of them. I bought them locally to support a local business. Perhaps the stock was old. I don't know. But, I used to be able to buy Sharpie paint markers and like them much better. As for being critical about a product, I think it's okay as long as you identify the product, which you did in this video. I have watched review videos where the reviewer had such a negative experience that he wouldn't even identify the brand. What if I was in the market for the same product? I would want to know what brand he used so that I could avoid it. I mean, if he had a negative experience, chances are that others would have the same experience. But, maybe that's not true.

He Obviously didn’t read the directions it says right on the package for non-porous surfaces i think this guy had it in his mind that they were gonna be no good before he even opened them i have 3 of them and a molotow and they are just as good as the molotow! Next time be honest with your reviews and use the product on the correct surface
@owingsart2 жыл бұрын
While I appreciate your opinion, the Flysea marketing advertises the following, "For almost any Smooth Surfaces. Effective on various surfaces like plastic, glass, metal, clay, foam, paper, and more." I also tried these on plastic surfaces, glass and smooth wood and although they worked reasonably okay, they were not nearly as good as the Molotow markers. Additionally, these were much more difficult to get ink flow going and the odor was horrible. They also lack transparency and disclosure on the chemicals used in these markers. I wouldn't let children near these things. Lastly, everything covered was an honest opinion. No one is forcing anyone to watch, but I do wish Flysea would make a better product, because I really wanted to like these.
