Getting this exact same one in a week, same Blade color and Flytanium stonewashed scales. Was impressed someone made a review of the exact same one I ordered.

I bought a set of aluminum Flytanium scales for my DLC s30v pm2... No regrets I couldn't put the knife down before, now we are inseparable. It has added to the weight in a good way, it just feels sturdy and looks even cooler than it did with the camo.

Not to mention they fit like a glove with all the hardware and I got perfect blade centering.

I also have the exact same one. Pretty happy with it. Like you, I've been a little underwhelmed with the PM2 and always ended up selling or trading them. The flytanium scales are a nice touch. My only gripe is that they are quite slick. If they were bead blasted they'd be perfect

I have always loved the PM 2. The ergos, the size, the weight, the compression lock.. it's a near perfect knife IMO. I have several with custom micarta scales. I've always eyed the flytanium scales, but have never puled the trigger. The black blade with those titanium scales is pure knife porn. I want one now.

Wow... Tip up only carry. I'm one of the few that carries this model tip down. The ergonomics are so, so much better for me. I really wanted these too.

Had the same problem with tip up until I got an aftermarket deep carry titanium clip. Once I did, the hot spot was eliminated 100%

I almost pulled the trigger... but I'm still holding out hope Spyderco does it right wth that beautiful stonewash bead blast, like they put on their Slysz collaborations with all the matching screws, fittings, clip and an upgraded steel.. How could they not go there? The PM2 is their most Icon among Iconic pieces..They have to do this!

+Rob DiGi It's a beautiful pipe dream, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Spyderco is beyond slow to implement anything that fans request.

Lol that's true, they finally quit using red loctite, after how many years of people complaining? I love their knives, but they have a quirky way of going about some of their business.

those scales make a huge difference dont u think ?.. ive got that exact same knife .. scales make it feel more like the quality knife it shouldve been to begin with ..cant beat FLYTANIUM 👍🏼

FloorGuys01 the finish that flytanium does is great. I grabbed these for my Griptilian and man it is truly a premium knife (especially with a CPM 20CV Blade lol) I’m holding out on some scales for the mini grip as well. Especially if their mini grip scales are contoured like the full size grip scales.

I have a dlc yojimbo 2 I’d like these scales for. Wish flytanium would make some for that knife.

+George Horning Jr. They have some other cool projects in the works, but I don't think the Yojimbo is one of them.

Did you have to buy longer screws for the pocket clip or the pivot screw? My pocket clip screws don’t screw in and it’s way too loose. The blade has a bit of blade play and I’m assuming it’s because of the same thing

Used the factory screws, no problem. Did you reach out to them?

Did you have an opportunity to examine the quality of their carbon fiber scales for the PM2?

I checked those out a while ago. They were machined rather poorly, and much thinner than the stock PM2 scales. I had a lot of trouble getting the body screws to line up, and even then, there was a ton of bladeplay I couldn't get rid of (until I put the stock scales back on). They had a very low grit satin finish, which was dull looking and didn't feel too great in the hand. Ultimately, I returned them for a refund.

This one looks too plain for me. Right color. But I would like to see some texture. For traction. And the edges should be rounded out
@jeremyburris48905 жыл бұрын
I wish they weren't so pricey but I like these better than the cheese grater g10
@smalls034 жыл бұрын
The stock g-10 just feels out of place. Maybe if they were rounded off or something. Way too smooth of a knife to have cheap feeling scales.

I picked up one of Flytanium's backspacers for my PM2, and I gotta say - I'm not impressed. The stock photos of the piece show a single etched line that runs down the center of the spacer, but on mine, the line veers visibly off-center. On top of that, the fit is not perfect. It emerges slightly from the butt of the scales on the lanyard tube end, and for an aftermarket piece for a high quality knife it really should be flush. Just my two cents, and maybe I just got a dud, or it could be attributed to the variability that you spoke of. I would think a precise backspacer would be easier to produce than scales though.

@@Camelotsmoon lol wow this is a throwback. 3 years later honestly I think I was harsh in that original comment, those variations I mentioned are there but they don't bother me as much as they did back then. Glad yours is perfect!

Love Spyderco, but I hate the secondary "markup" market. It would be awesome if they had a custom shop where you could pay regular retail prices instead of a bloated marked up price from some douche bag that snatched up as many sprints as he could.
