In Canada we can buy knives(folders) from Canadian suppliers but cant order from outside Canada. Ive had friends have their knives taken by customs. What im getting at is we can no longer tap into any warrenty. If u send ur ZT, spiderco or benchmade knife to be fixed u would never see it again. So well made Chinese knives that cost far less than American made r starting to appeal more.

wow, the flipper delete really give a different view on the bowie. You have a really nice blade.

Thank you! Not sure if you saw, but this last week Rick Hinderer finally released a flipper-less bowie just like this custom build. So you can eventually snag one direct from the factory this way... minus the awesome custom scales.

This Spyderco is just the anti-spyderco ! Everything That i hate in a Knive is in a Spyderco but everything that i love in a knive is the Vallotton ! This is indeed just a piece of art ! Of course i don’t carry it because of its weight and size but i love to manipulate it to look at it and to touch it ! For EDC i have other ones but there is absolutely nothing bad to tell about this outstanding piece of art ! Thanks for your video

You should look at axial knives, very well made otf’s. The axial shift 3.0 is their newest version. Highly recommend. Very comparable to microtech and guardian. I have the recon-035 also. It’s my first OTF, I’ve liked it very much.

The last few years in the knife world in general can be summed up as "solutions looking for a problem," but the kickstop can be considered the crown jewel of that whole ethos.

Please stop saying m390 is top tier blade steel. It can be heat treated poorly and other than Reate and Spyderco, its always done to a low value and low cutting performance and not worth asking prices. Anyone doing m390 to 62rc with low temper or anyone using secondary hardening successfully like Reate at 59 to 61rc with 3 high heat tempers are going to be the most valuable of m390. Anything else is basically just s35vn or slightly better than s35vn... And thats not really good.
@EpicSnuggleBunny8 ай бұрын
Well, this was done by Reate, so to your own admission, it was heat treated correctly and would be a top-tier steel. If it was some random overseas brand, I wouldn't have done a video on it. But assuming I did, I would mention that their heat treat, and even origin of steel would be questionable at best.
@tacticalcenter86588 ай бұрын
@@EpicSnuggleBunny yup. We have many USA manufacturers also heat treating m390, 20cv 204p in the 57 to 60 range also. Meaning they are also not worth their high prices. Generally the USA brands will often have a better microstructure than the overseas counterparts at those hardnesses. But they are still budget low value. Looking at major USA brands including microtech, hinderer etc. Zt are huge offenders with very poor microstructure and low hardness.
