These are some of the most exquisite pieces of tackle I've ever seen. I thought Penn reels were extremely handsome, I've got a 350 Leveline and a Senator 4/0. They instill me with pictures of barnacle encrusted trawlers and soggy fishing piers. There's nothing quite like the imagine of a angler in the surf, on bridge or pier, heaving bait and pulling creatures from the sea. A form of food gathering that has remained relatively unchained for hundreds upon hundreds of years!

FABULOUS collection!! I have several older Mitchell reels, not quite as old as yours. Bought my first one when I was 15 (now 63) and I still use them from time to time. Thanks for the video.

We're just getting ourselves together for the new year. We're thinking 'Fast Stuff' about 10 minutes per show, fly tying plus the odd spot of vintage tackle. It's all 'in the mix' right now...thanks for your kind words....Chris

Hi Jamie...Thanks for your kind comments. I don't know the Hardy Fairchild but I believe an example sold in Mullock's auction in 2016 for under £120. Google the rod name for more info and pictures. Good luck...Chris
