Flywing FW200 GPS UPGRADE Install

Thank you for your work and showing others how to install the new GPS correctly. The old GPS used the US GPS to work together with the Russian Gronas, but the recent Ukrainian war made the Russian Gronas almost unusable. So, upgrading the new GPS is necessary. The new GPS can connect to European satellites.

Thanks CR I have 2 fw200 ,1 I just bought with the black box upgraded gps and 1 I bought last year that has the original. The black box gives me 9 sats while in the basement, the older one gives me 0. So I just ordered the upgraded gps from helidirect. Thanks for the tutorial.

I did the switch to the new GPS update. First of thanks to Cruzroy helicopters!! GSP LOCKS IN TWICE AS FAST!!

you'll need to pad a bit of foam between the GPS and its plastic casing. This stops the bulky & heavy GPS module from flopping around inside the case that may cause damages to the GPSs pins and connectors. I had mine suddenly loosing all GPS (detected none) and found that the connectors & pins were ripped off the GPS and the Flight Controller PCBs.

Cruz, well done, FYI I had to try installing the GPS three times because the pins didn't want to seat in.

yeah i showed that. i think pins are pitch at angle to grip better, or shit tolerance's

I have one and it takes 5 minutes to lock! It must be the older GPS! Companies that do not include instructions and flight controller pinout diagrams are crap in my book. I purchased a brand new HD-Zero equipped Crux 35 racing quad that cost $350.00. There were no setup guides, pinout diagrams, and all of the firmware to include the RX, flight controller and VTX firmware needed to be updated, I tried for days to get the company to respond with no luck. Luckily, I own over forty of these little machines and have scratch built many of my own! I was able to wade through updating HD-Zero, ELRS, and Betaflight to get the little turd to work. Four days after I contacted them, they finally replied with a link to the setup and pinout diagrams. There was not even a link to the downloads that shipped with it. Value added service is a thing of the past with most companies. Some like Diatone, and Emax still put a good package together, but it is the exception rather than the rule with most Chinese companies!

Hi, Got myself ALZTC 505, and this is my first FBL Heli. I’m use to fly Heli with fly bare (Thunder Tiger Raptor 50). my D/R EXP set at 25. I only do sport flying. With this 505 FBL the helicopter is very responsive with D/R EXP set at 25 and still afraid to hovers or fly this helicopter. What is your recommendation for D/R EXP setting so my helicopter won’t be so responsive. Also I just order H1 auto pilot for this heli and one of your video will be great help setting up.

Please use a small screw driver to loosen those connectors! I had to fast forward LOL! Many times Isopropyl alcohol will cause the adhesive to release. I spray the adhesive pads and let it sit and it most times comes off much easier!

You did an awesome job! But I don’t think I am gonna upgrade mine though the GPS for the 450 seems easer to upgrade so I think I will do that instead 😅

Fried my ESC pluging in the little XT 30 to the battery, they can plug in incorrectly! (44:28)

Nice job on the video! I will upgrade at some point, but mine locks in within 2 minutes now. Do you know if the flight controller has ever been upgraded? My FW200 is over a year old now, don't know if it is a V2, or an earlier version. Thanks

i thinkthe other 2 boards are the same, just went with ublox gps, depending on where you are the old one takes forever, but if your happy, dont change 2 minute is excelent
