Kev have you tried visiting a florists, they use hard green blocks for flower displays, that can be cut and shaped ( floral foam bricks). P.S. Jan caught some crazy English man having a shower in your garden, strange fellow, not to worry I think she scared him off.

I know the water will circulate throughout the system, but remember to put a drain at absolute bottom level of the floor/wall in case you need to drain the water contents below the pump pick-up point. The lower inches over time will fill with general dirt, sediment, crap.
